In my work, I am firmly committed to co-creating a space that is anti-racist, supportive of the LGBTQIA + and disabled communities, and a place where anyone can feel welcome, seen, heard, and valued.
As a couples/partnership therapist, my goal is to understand the positions from each partner in the relationship and to facilitate communication that leads to greater understanding. It is NOT to impose my own views of what your relationship should be or to pick sides. Let me help your couple/partnership, if you are navigating challenges with: Communication, Intimacy, Infidelity, Family/life transitions, and Cultural/Linguistic differences. I am passionate about exploring couples' families of origin, various environments, and identities (each and every aspect of your identities) and how they impact your individual and shared lives.

LGBT , Relationships/Marriage, Sex, Kink/Fetish, Career Goals, Anxiety/Depression, HIV... Sometimes it can be so easy to sweep things under the rug and deal with it later. The problem is often we have so much going on that we forget to address things that we say we will. This therapeutic practice strongly believes that every person, every situation, and the surrounding circumstances are all unique. Your situation may sound like or seem similar to someone else’s but YOU are the factor that makes yours different, and that’s what the main focus will be; how you can be empowered to explore with me and take solutions into your world.

As a therapist, I've helped thousands of individuals with anxiety, addiction, LGBTQ + issues, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, and more.
Life is a journey. Like all journeys, there are times we feel overwhelmed, tired, confused, or even lost. The most important journey of all is the journey inwards, the one that takes us towards our true self. This journey helps us learn, accept, and embrace who we are. If you're encountering any struggles on your journey in life -- anxiety, depression, life transitions, addiction, coming out -- then I'm here to help.

It happens to all of us and there's something we can do. It's called "mental fitness." It is estimated that LGBTQ + individuals comprise ten percent of the global population. While may issues that our community faces are similar to what others in the general population face, others are very unique to our own LGBTQ + culture. They are often best viewed, and treated within an LGBTQ + culturally sensitive framework, and by practitioners who are well-versed, and competent in LGBTQ + specific issues. Do you suffer from anxiety and depression, or gender dysphoria/transition related issues? Let me help you today. Please email to set up an initial intake appointment.

I work with people struggling for a way out of addiction; gay and lesbian clients seeking to make better lives in a heterosexual world; parents coping with pressures in the family; teens struggling to overcome unhealthy behavior.
Do you have anxiety or stress that is crippling your life? Depression that keeps you from connecting with others or thriving in your career? Anger that gets in the way of relationships? Or perhaps your marriage or relationship seems to be crumbling. If any of these hit home with you, therapy will help you.

My clients often identify as feeling "stuck." Stuck doing the same things over and over again, stuck wanting to change but struggling to take action. Stuck in a job or in relationships that feel unfulfilling. I work closely with codependency recovery and learning healthy relationships. I most frequently work with adults (18-35) experiencing life transitions, strained or toxic relationships with parents/significant others/self, low self esteem, anxiety and depression (also shows up as poor digestion + sleep). I work closely with the LGBT + community and provide a safe and inclusive environment for all to show up exactly as they are.

LGBTQ+ Therapists

Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?

Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?

Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?

While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
