People often struggle with anxiety, often tied to perfectionism, are people-pleasing, or have high internal standards. Others experience mild to moderate depression or emotional dysregulation, especially under stress. Many have a history of relational difficulties—either feeling disconnected or overly enmeshed, possibly navigating life transitions, such as career changes, entering adulthood, or adjusting to parenthood. All want to feel more at peace internally and more empowered in their daily choices yet may not always know how to articulate it at first, but they crave connection, meaning, and direction.

The process of raising a child from birth to independent adulthood is hard; and it can be overwhelming as a parent. Children and adolescents learn and process their emotions differently than adults. My focus is on building coping tools and minimizing difficult emotions that often show up in kids and adolescents as behavioral problems through their natural language which is playing. Is your child dealing with anxiety, inattention, hyperactivity, temper tantrums, depression, behavioral issues, separation anxiety, low self-esteem, poor social skills, defiant behavior difficulty following instructions? I'll be more than happy to help!

As a mental health counselor specializing in working with children, preteens, and teens, I am passionate about helping young people develop the skills they need to express, understand, and regulate their emotions. Using techniques like CBT, play therapy and art therapy, I provide a creative and engaging environment where kids can explore their feelings in ways that feel comfortable and natural. These therapies are particularly effective for helping children and teens articulate difficult emotions they might not have the words for, allowing them to better process their experiences and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Do you want change but are skeptical about receiving therapy? Changes in our lives can be intimidating, especially when we're uncertain about how to resolve our issues or about who to trust for assistance. As a Clinical Mental Health Therapist and OEF Marine Corps Veteran, I not only understand this struggle but have successfully treated various clients who used to feel that same way. Furthermore, I've also learned that more than one approach is often necessary to effectively resolve multiple issues a client may be facing, which is why I use an Integrative Therapy approach. This effective multimodal-approach does the following:

I do not believe in a "one size fits all" kind of approach. While uncomfortable feelings might be a commonality (especially in today's world,) I believe we are all individuals who learn, experience, and react to situations differently. One thing I know for sure, if everything was going "great" chances are you would not be reading this bio right now. BRAVO to you for taking this monumental step and investing in yourself! Hi, I'm Masha Andreoni, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida with 14+ years of professional/educational experience and 49+ years of lived experience.

Do emotions feel intense, overwhelming, or hard to manage? Do conflicts escalate quickly, leaving you feeling stuck, misunderstood, or full of regret? Many individuals, couples, and families I work with are emotionally sensitive and reactive under stress. They often get caught in black-and-white thinking. Conversations feel like all or nothing. Calm or chaos. Close or disconnected. Even when they understand what’s happening, the same patterns keep showing up in their relationships. I focus on helping clients get unstuck. We work on building practical skills while also understanding what emotions and behaviors are trying to do.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
