My focus includes retirement counseling and helping elders and their adult children with strategies for decision making paralysis, hoarding and coping with related aging conditions. I don't do 10-15 minute med checks because I don't believe you can properly prescribe medication if you don't understand what is going on with the patient. History is everything in psychiatry and studies consistently show that therapy plus medication works better than either one alone. I use a biopsychosocial approach and treat the whole patient, and coordinate care with other providers. I also do home visits for homebound patients on Mondays and Fridays.
