Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida. I received my master's degree in clinical social work from the University of Central Florida. I have been practicing for eight years. Specifically, I work with adolescents and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression and/or ADHD to develop healthy coping strategies as well as impulse control.

My name is Amber Fernbach. I am a LCSW and the creator of Surviving and Thriving Therapy. I have been a social worker for 6 years. I’ve worked in child welfare, school systems, victim’s of crime therapist, and now I have created my private practice. Trauma work, communication, boundaries, and ADHD are my expertise. My ideal client would have intrinsic motivation or be open to building their motivation and reaching other self-created goals with my assistance. I have worked with children, teens, young adults, and middle age individuals.

My ideal client would be ages 3-18 seeking assistance with adjustment issues, grief, anxiety, depression, peer conflict, parent/child conflict, stress, behavioral issues, self-esteem, and sports performance issues. I would desire to work with the client and their parent(s) to teach healthy coping and communication skills to reduce negative symptoms/behaviors causing tension at home and school.

They have excessive/some worry that is difficult to control, occurring more days than not for more than 30 days and beyond. They might also experience motor tension, autonomic hyperactivity, and hypervigilance. I work with you to create short- and long-term goals to reduce symptoms' frequency, intensity, and duration so that daily functioning is not impaired. I specialize in the treatment of suicidal behavior/thoughts, depression, anxiety, self-injury, PTSD, social anxiety, and mood dysregulation. I provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in individual therapy and lead coping skills groups. In addition to offering DBT to children and adolescents, I am an experienced and trained play therapist. I am open to clients who have experienced hospitalization, difficulty finding a therapist who can help resolve challenging issues or whose problems have persisted over time.
