I have extensive experience working with victims of trauma (complex, childhood, and sexual) from assessment through treatment.
Something tipped the scale – a crisis, life transition, or enough of the same thing. You’ve tried to get through on your own in healthy and unhealthy ways, and now, you're ready for something different. While your story is your own, my clients find comfort in having an experienced therapist support them in navigating the themes, feelings, and difficulties that are more common than they ever knew. It’s less lonely that way. I often use EMDR to help clients reprocess difficult or traumatic experiences, to find relief from symptoms, feelings, and thoughts about themselves, that have been troubling them recently or for years.

I help women and adults work through trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm in a safe, non-judgmental space.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I take a strength-based approach—believing you already have the resilience you need to heal. Together, we’ll uncover and build on those strengths using evidence-based practices like EMDR, CBT, motivational interviewing, and expressive therapies including art, music, and play.

My experience spans community mental health and outpatient settings, supporting individuals facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity-based stress.
In sessions, I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, psychodynamic techniques, and elements of polyvagal theory, drawing from trauma-focused CBT when appropriate. My style is strength-based, collaborative, and grounded in trust and authenticity.

Many come to therapy carrying trauma, chronic shame, attachment wounds, religious trauma, emotionally unsafe relationships, or family systems that taught them to suppress their needs to stay safe.

I specialize in issues related to PTSD, trauma, sexual orientation (LGBTQA), gender identity, relationship functioning, and mood disorders.
Therapy should provide a safe, nonjudgmental relationship through which to explore those parts of you that may make you feel ashamed or afraid, to develop meaningful insights, and to discover your strengths. I have extensive experience working with people seeking to overcome traumatic life events - sexual violations, abuse, neglect, extreme acts of violence - but have found that, in the end, it can sometimes be the seemingly small, overlooked wounds that take longest to heal. No matter how stuck and hopeless you may feel, you have the power to take control and embrace the person you'd like to be.

I integrate trauma-informed and attachment-based therapy to help clients better understand emotional patterns, improve relationship dynamics, and develop more secure connections with themselves and others.
I work with women who struggle with anxious attachment, relationship insecurity, fear of abandonment, or emotional overwhelm in relationships. Many clients I work with feel exhausted by overthinking, ashamed of how reactive they become, or discouraged by repeated unhealthy relationship patterns. Therapy provides a supportive space to better understand these patterns and build healthier, more secure relationships.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
