I could tell you all about my 25+ years of training/certifications, therapeutic methods, and the usual psychobabble jargon professionals use. However, if you are like most people, your main question is: "Can you help me in my situation?". Since 1994, I have assisted thousands of individuals, couples, and families in finding direction, solutions, and peace in their lives. If you are ready to let go of the pain and find solutions that work, contact us today. Email or text works best.

My name is Linda and I am a board-certified psychotherapist specializing in fear, panic, anxiety, OCD, relationships, trauma, depression and setting boundaries.
Do you live in a constant state of ‘what if’ to the point you ‘what if’ everything to death? (What if I make the wrong choice? What if I get into an accident? What if I cause something bad to happen?) You may be finding yourself mentally fatigued and exhausted (sometimes to the point of sadness) because the thoughts are non-stop and constantly pop into your head. You might also easily see 5 - 10 steps ahead of a situation and predict all the things that ‘might go wrong’. How exhausting is it to live like this? The root of worry often hides much deeper and I have a passion of helping people figure what that is!

I am trained in EMDR to treat trauma and provide ERP and ACT for OCD/ruminating behaviors
Anxiety, anger, and stress can be overwhelming. Becoming irritable, feeling as if you are 'snapping', problems sleeping, worrying and overthinking... just a few of the symptoms that you may be living with causing you to feel hopeless and 'stuck'. Stress and anxiety may have gotten to the point to where you don't even feel like yourself anymore. You may have even experienced a panic attack with no idea what led to it. You may be stuck in a cycle of lashing out at those closest to you and then feeling guilty... only making the anxiety worse.

My specialty is working with adults who are struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder ( OCD) and related disorders (BFRBs & hoarding).
I approach therapy in terms of changing thoughts and behaviors to help one live the way they want to (CBT). Generally those having difficulty with OCD respond well to exposure and response prevention (ERP), which is facing what you are afraid of (in a very controlled, supportive environment) and resisting the compulsions that have become so second-nature.

I have diverse experience, and especially enjoy working with individuals that are experiencing anxiety disorders, OCD, perinatal and postpartum mental health, binge eating disorder, and low self-esteem, as well as individuals that identify within the LGBTQ+ community.
When your life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or out of control, you may not feel like yourself. Everyday tasks seem a little harder, you may feel more impatient or sensitive, and your mind seems to focus on the wrong things. You find yourself getting stuck in your head and have trouble staying present. And you beat yourself up for it. My goal is to help you navigate through these challenges in a safe and non-judgmental space so you may live a more balanced, authentic, and peaceful life. I want to help you feel like you are living as the person you truly want to be.

Some of my main professional interests include: LGBTQ+ concerns, diversity, OCD, anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, eating concerns, and family of origin issues.
At times we all face things that can feel challenging, insurmountable, or overwhelming. I view therapy as a space where my clients can share their experiences and explore patterns where they may be feeling stuck. I am passionate about helping clients work through this stuckness and detangle obstacles that may be standing in the way of the goals you desire to achieve. I recognize that taking the step to seek therapy can feel vulnerable and I am intentional about providing a nonjudgmental space as we work together in addressing the challenges that bring you in.

How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
