Real Life Counseling is all about what the rules are for being a human being. These rules are the guidelines for playing the game we call life. Learning and discussing these univeral truths in therapy will provide you. I feel as a professional mental health counselor they form the foundation of how we can live a fulfilling and meaningful life. I also realize they are not magic, nor do they promise ten easy steps or a quick fix for emotional ailments. I offer this service in hope that my clients will learn, grow, and become aware of their potential for happiness.

In addition to offering conventional therapy options, I am also a Certified EMDR Therapist.
Therapy should provide a safe, nonjudgmental relationship through which to explore those parts of you that may make you feel ashamed or afraid, to develop meaningful insights, and to discover your strengths. I have extensive experience working with people seeking to overcome traumatic life events - sexual violations, abuse, neglect, extreme acts of violence - but have found that, in the end, it can sometimes be the seemingly small, overlooked wounds that take longest to heal. No matter how stuck and hopeless you may feel, you have the power to take control and embrace the person you'd like to be.

I often use EMDR to help clients reprocess difficult or traumatic experiences, to find relief from symptoms, feelings, and thoughts about themselves, that have been troubling them recently or for years.
I have extensive experience working with victims of trauma (complex, childhood, and sexual) from assessment through treatment. I have provided care for clients receiving in-patient care for chronic and acute mental health conditions. I also enjoy supporting those navigating issues related to family and children (including perinatal mental health).

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, with a focus on attachment issues, as well as traditional talk therapy to guide you as you heal your inner child and learn to give yourself what you need to live healthier and happier.
Did you have a complicated and unhealthy relationship with one or both of your parents growing up? Do you find that now as an adult you struggle to form healthy attachments to people including friendships and romantic relationships? Do you feel that you are damaged in some way and so you overcompensate with people pleasing and perfectionism which leads to anxiety? Do you feel like you are not where you should be in life and you feel hopeless about your future?

I find using both top-down treatments (such as CBT & DBT) along with bottom-up approaches (like EMDR, IFS, & Gestalt) provide a more holistic form of healing in trauma work.
Life in itself is challenging; let me help you learn how to face these moments with strength and love. As humans, we tend to struggle with how to handle adversity and often forget our own resiliency and ability to adapt. "We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty"- Maya Angelou.

I specialize in trauma ( EMDR) and BDSM/Poly-informed therapy.
My ideal client is an LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, or trauma-surviving adult tired of "performing" for a world not built for them. They feel stuck under the weight of anxiety, identity questions, or the exhaustion of masking. Having likely spent too much time "educating" past therapists, they need a space where they don't have to defend who they are. Their goal is to stop just surviving and start living authentically—feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected. They want practical tools to navigate transitions and a sense of hope that they no longer have to carry the heavy stuff alone.

Hi I'm Grace! I typically support young adults, adolescents, and families who are navigating anxiety, relationship issues and family conflicts. I love working with people who feel overwhelmed — overthinking everything, shutting down, getting irritable, or stuck in the same patterns. Life, relationships, or responsibilities can suddenly feel heavier than they should, and it’s exhausting to carry alone. My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly, feel understood, and not worry about being judged. Together, we’ll figure out what’s going on and build practical tools so things feel more manageable and less stuck.

I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocess ( EMDR).
Therapy is a journey for every individual. I see my clients as captains while I am their navigator, helping them reach their destination through a process called change. Obstacles are present in all journeys, but the barriers in each client’s life are so uniquely challenging that they often feel “stuck” or unable to leave the cycle that is creating the problem. As a therapist, I aim to focus on specific emotions and feelings while listening to language and meaning. During sessions, I relate what my client says about their problem to the content of our discussion then use systems theory to construct thoughts about their problems.

I am completing EMDR training in order to help clients process trauma and anxiety in order to get to the root of these challenges.
My clients are longing for a deep and meaningful change (mixed with some play and laughter). I work with children, teens and adults who are looking to create a therapeutic journey that is both playful and deep. The adult clients I work with find real relief from depression, anxiety and trauma. The young adult and teen clients in my office are often working through identity development, stress management, and accomplishing their goals in life. The younger kiddos in my office are using play and creativity to work through big emotions, tough behaviors and family challenges.

I'm glad you're here. When looking for a therapist, it can feel overwhelming and difficult to navigate so many options, which is how life often feels too. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. You are making a huge step towards healing, and often that step feels the hardest. My clients have a general idea of what they are wanting to work through, and we do so together at a pace that feels safe, manageable, and collaborative. I provide a non-judgmental and validating space to help you explore the areas of your life you would like to see change or just need support with.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
