Working with toddlers to adults, has empowered me to gain insight of what happened to you on your life journey. Between the endless amounts of stressful experiences in our lives and negative relationships we have encountered, it is crucial to develop self-awareness. Whether you are looking for services for yourself or your child, we will work together to create the best treatment plan that encompasses wants/needs to be fulfilled. Therapy is more than just "talking to someone." It is about creating a better future for yourself. A future that is possible with the right tools and supports.

I also offer an integrative approach by including interventions such as acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness,
dialectical
behavior therapy, and other techniques that incorporate an individual’s strengths in treatment.
I am currently only offering tele-health services. I have trained in a variety of mental health settings treating adolescents and adults. These settings include hospitals, community clinics and private practice. I believe that therapy is an essential way to understand how the emotional and physical bodies are connected. Gaining insight of the internal self, and learning the mind-body connection, guides us to acknowledging and accepting our actions, reactions, and behaviors. Throughout my career I have worked with individuals struggling with fertility issues, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, and martial discord.

My therapy style is holistic and eclectic, relying heavily on the principles of
DBT
and ACT in conjunction with Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
Too often, we stifle our true identities and silence our voices because of external pressures and expectations, which ultimately keeps us from cultivating fulfilling lives. You deserve a space where you can be exactly who you are and become exactly who you want to be, in a way that makes you feel seen and validated. My aspiration is to be exactly the kind of therapist my generational peers and I would have needed as adolescents: one who is solution-focused, authentic, nonjudgmental, will call you on your BS (gently!), and genuinely cares about you and your progress. (I do not treat couples, families, or minors at this time)

Who is DBT for?
DBT is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
