Whether it's generalized anxiety disorder, phobia, medical anxiety, social anxiety, or OCD, I can help.
I help people work through specific protocol to no longer meet criteria for an anxiety diagnosis. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP) to help clients stop overthinking, stop avoiding, and let intrusive thoughts go with ease.

I'm Alex, a licensed Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in Florida who specializes in helping teens and young adults navigate anxiety, stress, OCD, life transitions, and more.
Do you constantly overthink everything? Find yourself replaying conversations, expecting the worst, or feeling trapped by anxiety that never seems to quiet down? Maybe intrusive thoughts leave you feeling scared or ashamed, perfectionism keeps you stuck, or you're exhausted from trying to hold it all together. If any of this sounds familiar, you don't have to face it alone.

I've completed ERP training for OCD, Gottman L-1 for couples, and SYMBIS for premarital counseling.
I firmly believe in building trust and connection with clients, and understand that the counselor-client relationship is foundational to the counseling process! I would love to offer counseling from a Christian worldview, if requested by you, the client. I also have additional experience through working as a therapist at Roger's Behavioral Health.

Mind–Body Freedom is the goal. I integrate somatic therapies with traditional talk therapy because, when it comes to trauma, talk therapy alone often isn’t enough. We can’t think our way to feeling safe. Many of us already understand why we feel the way we do — yet still feel stuck. As I often say, “If you could have thought your way out of it, you would have done it by now." ;) Somatic and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) can help with that. Trauma, chronic stress, and anxiety are stored in the body & nervous system. That fight, flight, or freeze survival energy.

There are moments when life feels louder on the inside than it looks on the outside. You might appear to be managing things well, but underneath, anxiety, loss, or past pain continue to pull at you. You have tried to move forward, yet old patterns and emotions seem to resurface. Therapy offers space to pause, make sense of what is happening beneath the surface, and begin restoring a sense of calm, clarity, and connection. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to explore honestly and supported enough to grow.

I primarily work with adult women who may appear to be managing life on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. Many are navigating anxiety, depression, mood changes, relationship stress, work-related burnout, or major life transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum adjustments, infertility, caregiving, or grief and loss. Others come to therapy after experiencing trauma—either recent or from the past—that continues to impact how they feel, think, and relate to others. Together, we work to better understand patterns, identify barriers, and develop practical tools that support healing and growth.

My career began with a question that I could not stop asking. Why do some people spend years trying to change while others seem to create lasting transformation almost effortlessly? That curiosity led me into the study of hypnosis and the subconscious mind. What started as a search for answers quickly became a passion and eventually a profession. Over the years, I have had the privilege of witnessing people overcome fears, break unwanted patterns, build confidence, and create meaningful change in ways they once believed were impossible. More than a decade later, I remain fascinated by the mind and the process of change.

You might be used to being the one others rely on, the strong one, the helper, the steady presence in chaos. Whether you’re a college student pushing through a difficult program, a Veteran or family member carrying experiences few understand, or someone in a helping profession constantly showing up for others, reaching out for support can feel heavy with shame or fear. Taking that first step toward your own mental wellness isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s an act of courage.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
