As a new-age addiction/ trauma therapist, I will guide you towards maintaining a meaningful and healthy life.
Are you struggling with addiction, maintaining complete sobriety or simply finding that proper balance between addiction, abuse, and healthy recreational use? Are traditional approaches not working for you? I am a licensed mental health counselor, specializing in addiction and trauma . Using modern research and interventions, I believe there is no such thing as a 'one size fits all' approach when it comes to addictions, unhealthy or unwanted habits. As an existential, humanistic counselor, I take a psychodynamic approach to treating individuals' personal needs, while simultaneously treating substance use and process addictions.

Life can be challenging. But sometimes life is more difficult than it should be. At times it may seem that however hard we try, we are unable to live the life we want. It may feel as if there is an invisible wall that gets between us and our hopes, aspirations, and goals. This "wall" may be caused by depression, anxiety, family issues or trauma , among other things. Fortunately, it is possible to free ourselves of these impediments and live the life we want for ourselves.

In sessions, my objectives are your objectives. I think that perspective is vital to empowering you so that together we can accomplish the goals that caused you to seek counseling. Feeling safe and supported is vital.

There is hope, even when we navigate life without an owner’s manual. We can learn how to understand our experiences and let go of anxiety, depression, trauma , and interpersonal troubles. A bottom-up approach to integrating body, mind, and soul is necessary to tackle a new way of thinking, being, and doing. We start by gently befriending our body sensations and emotions because we don’t do as we think, we do as we feel. In that way, we learn to connect to our inner wisdom, inherent power, and resilience and move towards our best selves. These potential lives in you. Connection and inner safety are our birthrights.

Life can present us with many challenges, but we don't need to go through these challenges alone. After major life changes such as death of a loved one, struggles of a divorce, job loss, moving to an unknown place, experiencing anxiety, depression and trauma can turn our worlds upside down. Sometimes we don't have the best coping skills and mechanisms to handle these challenges. We can work together to find solutions to these challenges, work on life goals, and a new positive path. As a mental health counselor, my goal is to help you find your path to a healthier and empowered life.

I have extensive clinical experience in the treatment of trauma , PTSD , anxiety, depression, abuse, neglect, and loss.
You find yourself dealing with life in ways that are not healthy, appropriate, or adaptive. You function with high levels of stress, leading to more conflicts, more anger, guilt and shame, and more stress. You start to believe that something is wrong with you, that you are a bad person, that you are not worthy of love. You feel trapped. Unresolved or disturbing memories, childhood maltreatment, and traumatic events shape the ways you view the world and the ways you view yourself. But trust me: you do not have to be scripted by your past. You can leave your past in the past and own back your life.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
