You’ve come a long way, welcome.
I work with women, mothers, and artists who want to reclaim their voice, pursue their passions, and relate to others without losing themselves. Do you struggle with chronic self-doubt, self-silencing, anxiety, or depression? Do you miss simply knowing what you want and need? It’s okay. Most of us do, especially women. Early relational trauma, sexism, and the pace of modern life can quietly disconnect us from our own wisdom. Her Self-Spoken is a private online clinic for the modern woman who feels pulled in many directions on the inside, yet longs to soften, trust, and feel alive again.

On the surface, everything is fine. You do your work, pay your bills, and seem to have it all together. But inside is a different story. Your emotions are unpredictable – dizzyingly high one moment, then crashing back to earth the next. It’s impossible to find relief from the constant triggers and intrusive thoughts, so you hide. But in the process, you’re shrinking from the world. Nobody sees the real you, and it feels so isolating. You’d love to be able to express how you really feel, but you’re scared of how people would react. So you smile through your struggles and suffer in silence. If only there were some other way to live.

I am a seasoned clinician with experience providing services to adolescents, adults and couples. Providing a warm, nurturing atmosphere where the person can feel safe and understood, I help my clients explore and understand how past/current issues are impacting and "coming in the way" of being able to fully enjoy life and set future attainable goals. We will address how certain emotions affect our way of thinking, performing and our capacity to feel "free". Since the mind and body are deeply and strongly connected, I consider the relationship between presenting issues, family history, current relationships and ongoing sources of stress.

I’m a Mental Health Counselor, my approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy. Together we explore how your past experiences may be shaping your present emotions and behaviors. During my sessions we will look for something deeper and more meaningful, not surface-level fixes. I focus on building insight, healing emotional wounds, and creating change from the inside out.

A comment, a look, a moment of silence — and suddenly your chest tightens, your voice changes, your mind spirals. You react in ways you promised yourself you wouldn’t. You crave peace, not perfection — to express yourself without fear of being too intense or too needy. You want relationships that feel safe, where you don’t have to abandon yourself to be loved. I work with individuals and couples caught in emotional loops they can’t seem to break — patterns that feel familiar but exhausting. Together, we uncover what’s beneath the reactivity, and build new ways of relating — to yourself and others — with clarity, security, and truth.

These emotions may lead you into a mental whirlwind which feels chaotic and uncontrollable. But know that you are not alone and there is hope.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
