Hello, Welcome ! Helping others to heal has always been a passion of mine. My approach as a therapist is to avoid using the same methods or treatments for every client. Individuals may have the same diagnosis but require different methods to maintain their quality of life. I believe that it's important for clients to feel safe to express whatever their concerns are without judgment. My goal is to help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns and change unregulated behavior. Mental health can be a journey of unknown destinations. Allow me to help you find clarity, healing, and a greater sense of ease in daily life .

Perhaps you’ve spent years trying to be “perfect” or to feel "good enough" and yet good enough never feels enough. Or maybe the noise of others’ control and desires stifles your own voice. You could be the person constantly taking care of others where you don’t know what it’s like to tend to your own needs. Or perhaps you’ve grown accustomed to hearing that you’re “too sensitive” or “emotional” where you’ve wondered why you feel things so strongly in comparison to others. Whether its shame, stress, life transitions, trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, or another life struggle, we can work together through your adversity.

Sometimes in life we run into times that are hard to navigate alone; entering a new phase in life, getting through a break-up or trouble in a relationship, communicating with one another, anger, life transitions, parenting issues and/or blended families. Possibly you, your child or you both have ADHD? I can help with tools for focus and tips for making your day start and go more smoothly, to include that troublesome homework time. Experiencing parenting issues, anxiety and/or depression, I can help you and/or your family work things out and get to a better place.

You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to handle what life has put in front of you. Maybe your emotions feel too big, your thoughts won’t quiet down, or your relationships feel heavy. You don’t have to carry it alone. I work with children, teens, and adults to create a safe space for healing, growth, and stability. Using approaches like CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care, we’ll focus on building tools, restoring balance, and helping you move forward with hope and confidence. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the core of meaningful work. From this foundation, I integrate various evidence-based approaches to meet your individual needs. Depending on your goals and concerns, I may draw from Psychodynamic Therapy to explore patterns rooted in early experiences, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build skills for emotional regulation, and EMDR when clinically appropriate to help you move from survival mode into greater clarity and emotional balance. I work with adults and adolescents navigating a variety of challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, etc.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
