Some of our greatest needs as human beings are to feel heard and understood. This is something that we all deserve, but unfortunately do not always experience. Therapy allows this to happen in a safe and nonjudgmental way. My number one priority is for the people I work with to feel safe and supported. I meet my clients where they are, and follow their lead so that they leave our sessions feeling like their most immediate needs and concerns were addressed.

When life becomes more challenging than we anticipate, finding support shouldn't feel like a dating task. That's why I'm here to join you in finding direction and hope. I help students/young adults wrestling with the anxiety that comes with life transitions. I support working professionals in managing stress and burnout. I provide a space for women to explore their worries and develop healthier relationships. As a multi-ethnic woman, I understand the tension of balancing one's identity and needs with their roles and responsibilities. I also value incorporating one's faith into exploring inner-conflicts and find self-compassion.

“What is to give light must endure burning.” ― Victor Frankl. Everyone needs someone to hear them. I am here to lend an ear, be present when life gets tough, and assist you in finding coping skills to weather any storm successfully. Life can be confusing and stressful and we all need a helping hand in becoming the best version of ourselves. My practice consists of working with teenage and adult individuals that want to become stronger, feel better about themselves, and want to move past their past. I truly believe that our past holds us hostage and prevents us from being in, and enjoying, the present moments in life.

Hello. While working together, I strive to accomplish significant milestones for your child and family. Some examples of skills learned for a child and their family include fostering independent dressing, facilitating the transition from non-verbal to functional communication with AACD, and addressing self-injurious behaviors like head-banging. We guide children to express distress through alternative means, such as hitting their thighs or stomping their feet. Applying evidence-based ABA techniques has a profound impact, enhancing family communication, refining dressing routines, and offering an alternative behavior to self-injury.

The process of change and healing is challenging. Healing is hardly a singular upwards track and in fact, there are multiple ups and downs. Healing is an adventure that takes us outside of our comfort zone and our ‘norm’ to find self love and show up as our authentic selves in all areas of our lives. We step outside of the standards and experiences we thought were protecting us and in actuality, they were our survival mechanisms that are no longer functional for us through our healing process. We may feel defeated or isolated when we feel stuck. My experience has shown me that people are resilient and able to heal and grow.

At Clarity Psychological Services, we believe that everyone is an individual so treatment is designed with that in mind. We also feel that therapy should be meaningful to the client and that the client leaves treatment with the tools that they need in order to have quality and balance in their lives.

My view of the human condition stems from a Zen concept of "suffering" and "transience of life." I believe that suffering is an inescapable human condition and yet a basis for growth. We all go through the phrases where we feel lost, helpless, or defeated by life challenges erroneously believing suffering will never end. In these moments, therapy can help. As a therapist, I regard my role as a guide in your life journey just like the Sherpas for climbers in the Himalayas. The goal of therapy is to get mobilized, explore the meaning and purpose of your life, and eventually get back on track to pursue what you truly value in life.

I have had the pleasure of working with all age groups for over 30 years. Need help with your kids? Parenting education and training are important issues in my practice. In general, important goals in therapy include learning how to make the best decisions for oneself in day-to-day life and in developing basic problem solving strategies. Often, significant change can be made simply through the process of education and awareness, offered in a caring and compassionate environment. I use EFT in my practice to maximize symptom relief and minimize the need for extended time in therapy.

We've all been in a life situation where we have felt stuck or struggled with feelings that seem insurmountable. Trying to balance all of the demands and challenges in our lives can be overwhelming! Sometimes we know what’s wrong and other times we just have the sense that something isn't "right". Finding a therapist to help you understand more clearly what’s going on can help you to learn to make the choices that will help you move forward.

If you're looking to understand your anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationships, I am so happy you're here. Often times we find ourselves repeating and recreating patterns without totally understanding why, or maybe you have a lot of awareness but get overwhelmed by being stuck in it. I am here to support you in the journey to feeling at home with yourself. Though it can seem overwhelming at first, you are worth this next step.

How can I find a therapist in Fountain Valley?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
