I understand myself in this role as a fellow traveler along the road who has devoted particular time and attention to learning the skills necessary to hold the kind of space that most effectively evokes the healing, release, and the profound wisdom that we all carry within. I work primarily with Internal Family Systems therapy. I believe this to be a particularly appropriate approach for our times as it is inherently a consent-based practice that moves precisely at the pace we are each ready for, and also creates space for touching the burdens we inherited intergenerationally/ancestrally.

Focused on healing through trauma-informed, body-based care and grounded in family systems theory, I draw on a range of counseling approaches including; psychodynamic, transpersonal, existential, expressive, mindfulness, mind-body, behavioral (DBT and CBT). Together we sojourn toward self-awareness and compassion for self. Emblematic moments from the past may have become conditioned responses to the present. We focus both on here and now and historical events. TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique), mindfulness, sensorimotor psychotherapy and EMDR-Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing help re-program stored arousal in the body.

What if your substance use issues are more of a sign and symptom of something you have the ability to change? If your feeling depressed, anxious, and alone in it all then please give me a call. I see the development of relationships with my clients as the most important element of our therapeutic relationship. I enjoy working with others from all walks of life. I believe everyone has their own answers, they just need a safe place to talk and be heard. I offer you that safe place to be curious, explore, and take risks to empower yourself as you are design to do.

Family Systems Therapists
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
