My focus is in working with clients who live in some way that is outside of a typical societal expectation or norm. My style is rooted in the idea of collective liberation, and my clients are most often fellow queer people, conscientious parents and caregivers, those living with chronic illness, survivors of relational and systemic trauma; those with body types, cultural identities, family or relationship structures that are non-normative.
We are living through a time of massive sociopolitical disruption; most of us are feeling that stress. Fortification has been and continues to be a main theme of my work with clients. I believe fortifying ourselves for what’s churning emotionally, economically, physically and otherwise is an important part of what we can do in therapy right now.
I believe it is important to work collaboratively to identify the aims of therapy. I draw from a blend of humanistic, liberation, narrative, relational, and psychodynamic therapy approaches; all while maintaining an ecosystemic perspective in understanding individual experience.
