Sam Darrow (they/them/theirs) is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) who has earned certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors. They received their Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University. They provide counseling to individuals ages 14 and older, couples, and groups.

Finding someone that you feel comfortable being vulnerable with can be a challenge. As a counselor, I encourage you to be your authentic self and fully express your feelings. I will provide a safe space free of judgment in which you can explore your experiences and deepen your understanding of yourself. I often utilize humor, education, and warmth in sessions. My goal is to develop a holistic understanding of your worldview. I want to help you learn how to work with your brain, not against it.

However, sometimes we need a little help along the way. I firmly believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their emotions, thoughts, and behavior.

My specialization includes assisting adults experiencing challenges of all types: be that physical, mental, psychiatric, developmental, cognitive, intellectual, chronic illness, etc. This may be a personal or indirect experience currently affecting you. We will work together to reflect on and overcome barriers in an empathetic and nurturing environment. We will take the time to grieve any loss, reflect on how things have changed and current frustrations, appreciate where you are now, and work together to find solutions or strategies that work for you and move you towards a better outlook and life.

Sorting through the things in your mind is difficult; but with therapy, it doesn’t have to be. I will never claim that therapy is easy, but I will always believe it’s worthwhile.

My ideal client is someone who wants to make steps to change their life for the better. What "better" looks like depends on their needs, and we will work together to find it. They would be someone who needs a helping hand and support to reach their goals and get through life's difficult times. This person may be seeking out therapy to find support that they don't have in their life already or to bolster their existing support system.

Finn Marcks (he/they) is a queer, trans, nonbinary therapist who believes in providing a safe, affirming, healing environment for people who are hurting. Finn’s main passion is working with LGBTQIA+ clients, and making gender-affirming care more accessible. Finn believes therapy is about the relationship between therapist and client, founded on trust and connection. Finn’s therapeutic lens is shaped by both his lived experiences and his work in LGBTQIA+ education and advocacy, as well as youth residential mental health and community mental health.

Salutation. I believe in using a holistic approach to finding self-healing. I am excited to aid individuals and families on their healing journey. I have 6+ years of working with women and children. My expertise is in client-centered care, focusing on the client's needs, and goals. My primary areas of interest are women's issues, trauma/ PTSD, race, and identity conflict. My ideal client groups are youth 5 to 13 years and adults. I have extensive experience working with very diverse groups of people and would love the opportunity to partner with you to see how I could be of service.

Therapy can be about so much more than healing from trauma. It is a powerful tool for trauma healing and also for growth, and learning new skills to help along the journey. A fellow therapist once said to me "trauma almost always happens within a relationship, therefore healing must happen within a relationship." It takes a lot to place such trust in a therapist and I applaud you for taking this step.

My ideal client is someone who knows there's something they want to work on, but isn't sure how to start. Are you struggling with anxiety and depression, and don't know why? I especially enjoy working with people who are trying to work while taking care of chronic illnesses, fellow social services employees, and LGBTQ+ clients. I love working with neurodivergence!

Perhaps you want to show up more authentically; you want to learn to stop masking your autism, for example, or present as the gender you align with, but want support and guidance through the conflicts that could arise. Perhaps you just want to stop feeling like your own worst enemy.

I believe therapy is a space where you can unload things that you are struggling to carry alone, develop clear insight, build greater self-compassion, and address barriers that keep you from achieving your goals. The first step in doing any one of these things is building a strong relationship with your therapist. I strive to make this possible by providing an open, judgement-free, and warm space where you can share who you are and what you are struggling to manage. I regularly work with folx age 14 and up on finding ways to manage their anxious or depressive thinking, and alleviate their stress.

As a transgender person I understand the value of advocacy, affirmation, and support. I believe in being a strong advocate for not only change but justice and equity. I strive to create a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space to exist as you navigate your mental health journey. I will walk alongside you helping your strengths shine through and continue to grow.

My approach is mindful, non-judgmental, and eclectic. I invite and challenge clients to build a stronger connection with themselves by using a strengths-based, evidence-based, and holistic approach. Therapy is an exploratory process where both people in the room are learners and teachers. I use a mixed-methods approach which takes from Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, Psychodynamic, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and other evidence-based somatic and cognitive techniques.
