Hi, my name is Fernando Hernandez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Bakersfield, CA working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work primarily with adults with a specialty in anxiety, stress management, and depression utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support my clients in their journey towards recovery. I provide a listening ear, a calm demeanor, and accommodating. I strive to ensure my patients feel comfortable to share anything in therapy and ensure to provide active listening while in session with clients.
I approach goal setting by working together with clients to develop a mutual goal while working together. Often times it starts by establishing rapport with the client, providing active listening, and a non-judgmental approach.
The first sessions with me will focus on how you have been feeling recently, and what brought you into therapy. I will be asking questions to better understand your journey and to be in a better position to support you going forward. The first session is about getting to know each other and to see where we can go to best support you in your journey.
