I primarily use 3 therapy methods: Psychodynamic, Feminist, and Relational therapies.
For the last 10 years, I've been working with people who are seeking relief from anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions. I work with clients who are looking for a supportive space for self-reflection and growth, with the goal of building relationship skills and coping strategies that can help them move through life in a more skillful way. I love working with people, and I use a warm and compassionate approach, not without direct and honest feedback, candor and humor. I'm often described as kind, spacious, and encouraging, providing a comfortable space for therapy.

Hello - whoever you are, I'm proud of you for starting the journey of seeking support! I work with adults (18+) who are looking to overcome challenges, define their identities, and unlock their potential. I specialize in serving sexuality minorities, a.k.a. the 'outsiders': LGBTQIA2S+ folks, kink and fetish enjoyers, sex workers, and non-monogamous partnerships. I'm also a believer in the power of relational healing - we're not meant to go through this life alone. With a mix of somatic, feminist, and decolonized therapy practices, I aim to help you find your own path and growth.

I believe in the power of positive change and transformational growth that therapy can provide to individuals and their families. Throughout life there are times when we need help and support. I am honored to work with you during these times of challenge.

There's a lot of talk these days about "boundaries," but what does that mean? Many are unsure. This is often part of a collection of symptoms, including self-esteem issues, getting lost in relationships, difficulty with moderation, and unrealistic goals of perfectionism, and more. I can help you understand these experiences, which are often related to codependency, resulting in anxiety, feelings of separation from others, problems with intimacy, and repeating parenting behaviors that you disliked growing up. Contributing factors can also be treated, including being raised by a narcissistic parent and other developmental traumas.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed or weighed down by the curveballs life has thrown at you? As if there are a lot of feelings or thoughts whirling inside you that you cannot explain or understand? Or maybe you just don't feel like yourself anymore but can't put a finger on when or why things changed. I believe that a genuine therapeutic relationship and a nonjudgmental space to explore our stories can help us heal what feels broken. The most common issues I enjoy working with are depression, grief, adjustment to major life/career changes, ADHD symptom management and relationship troubles.

Life is tricky... It's hard and messy and has no one right answer, especially now. Therapy is all about you figuring yourself out without judgment or expectations. Therapy with me, is a bit chaotic and messy too, like life. But trust me, the work is worth it. There is no one right way to "do" therapy or to be a client, but it is about you and what you're willing to bring to the table.

Life brings challenges that leave us feeling wounded, unheard, and alienated - both from ourselves and those closest to us. Times when joy and hope seem out of reach are opportunities for new perspective, shifts and growth. Having a warm and compassionate space to feel heard helps uncover a pathway to our best self. Using a culturally informed, collaborative, and therapeutically blended approach, I support my clients to find meaningful engagement, increased empowerment, and an improved quality of life.

Change is inevitable and life is unpredictable- two guaranteed discomforts in life. Whether caused by unexpected and unforeseen circumstances or recurring throughout your life, such great discomfort can be trying on anyone’s well-being. Hardships and traumas do not discriminate and can affect all humans, causing us distress within our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual parts. I believe therapy is a place to heal our wounds; to learn how to cope with life stressors and find ways to self-soothe; and to have a non-judgmental space held by someone who can provide safety and security. You do not have to do this alone.

Maybe you've received diagnoses that don't make sense to you, or you've been told your struggles are "all in our head" and you just need to "try harder." Many adults with signs and symptoms of ADHD & Autism share this experience. They are folx who find themselves burnt out and stretched thin after decades of wearing a mask of inauthenticity, trying to fit themselves into the mold that neurotypical society says is the "right" way to be. But what if I told you that's not true? That there is no wrong or right way to be your authentic self in the world, regardless of what you may have been told throughout your life.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA). What this means for our sessions is that I will provide a professional guiding hand for your individual, relationship, or family therapy journey. Your voice is extremely important and a vital piece of my practicing philosophy is that this will be a safe space for said voice to be uplifted through our work. Some of the theories we might concentrate on together are solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and experiential therapy. I also provide an affirming environment for queer, gender inclusive, and multiculturally competent care.

Recognizing the need for change in your life can feel daunting. Therapy allows for a safe, supportive space wherein creating positive change is the focus. Although the path to wellness and healing is often filled with twists and turns, you do not need to walk this path alone. Therapy is at its core an authentic encounter between two humans with inherent worth, capacity for insight, and tendency for growth. My goal is to join you as a fellow traveler and walk alongside you as we work together to identify strengths, pockets of joy, and rich meaning in your life.

Therapy is a wonderful opportunity for personal growth. It is also helpful in overcoming human experiences such as anxiety and depression, for improving relationships and for changing behaviors that may be hindering our quality of life. It is common to experience hesitation or ambivalence when starting therapy, much like many other new beginnings.

Feminist Therapists

How does feminist therapy work?

Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.

What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?

Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.

How long does feminist therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

Does feminist therapy work?

As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
