I use relational, systems focused, feminist, and queer elements in our work together.
Now accepting new clients - evening slots available! Being a human can be an intense experience and you are not alone! I usually see clients who are looking to process stress, overwhelming emotions, identities, relationships, past experiences, and the ways societal expectations have influenced their lives. I also see couples and people in relationships who are navigating the challenges of partnership and who hold intersecting identities. I am poly/queer informed. I also offer superbills to submit to your insurance to get reimbursement for our sessions.

I integrate a social justice, feminist, and queer lens in our work together to understand your unique story.
My clients often find themselves in periods of transitions, feeling misunderstood, and navigating challenges with how they relate to themselves and others. You may be struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and pressure from societal “shoulds”. Perhaps you are hoping to heal from trauma but unsure of where to begin. My individual and relational clients may also be seeking non-pathologizing support in navigating ethical non-monogamy/polyamory at any stage. Navigating the challenges of life can feel hard, scary, and at times, isolating. I am here to support you in that journey.

Both in the therapy space and beyond, I view the world through social justice and feminist lenses, trying to understand the systems at play and power structures we exist in so that together we can access choice and feel empowered for the long haul.
Hey there! I'm accepting new clients who are experiencing challenging emotions (depression, anxiety, anger), feel like they’re on the edge of burnout (compassion fatigue, eco-grief, difficulty with daily routines), or noticing relationship distress (communication issues, identity and sexuality exploration, boundaries and agreements). Most of the frameworks I use center around body wisdom and emotions because I believe you are the expert on your own experience and I'm just along to offer gentle guidance when needed. I feel passionate about supporting people who care about the world and want to make it a better place.

Are anxiety, depression, and trauma creating roadblocks in your life? Does it feel like there is a disconnect between you and the world around you? It is normal for the trauma stored in your body to create barriers to connection. Unfortunately, these barriers can be incredibly painful and difficult to cope with. You may be experiencing cycles of painful thoughts, days of numbness, or outbursts of anger.

I can support you if you’re wanting to live a more authentic, connected life, where you are living out of your personal code of ethics. It is my goal as a therapist to help bring you back to a felt sense of connection with your body. I specialize in working with teen and adult clients who are going through transitional phases, experiencing relationship issues, or are in need of processing some heavy life events. Therapy doesn’t exist in a vacuum. For those of us with marginalized identities, whether that be neurodivergence, chronic illness, or you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community, I want you to feel seen and heard.

Negative experiences shape how we think about ourselves, but they don't have to define us forever. We can learn new ways of relating to ourselves and the people around us via a variety of therapeutic modalities. With a therapist who can hold space for you with compassion and wisdom, you can overcome obstacles and cultivate resilient wellbeing. I might be helpful to you if: You know what it is like to feel held back from life, but don’t know how to engage; You crave connection and community, but feel uncomfortable reaching out to others; You feel disconnected from your body – you may not recognize there is a disconnect.

You're here because something isn't working and you are hoping to better understand and what's keeping you stuck. I specialize in helping folks struggling with depression, anxiety, complex trauma and disordered eating. Whatever you bring in, our first task will be to work together to find stable ground. We can then approach ourselves with curiosity, exploring the patterns, beliefs, and experiences you have developed to adapt and survive. Ultimately, this work will allow us to interpret the world from a new viewpoint with newly developed knowledge. Through this insight, we move toward experiencing increased peace and potential.

You may want to understand and befriend your emotions instead of distracting or reacting from them. You may have tried traditional talk therapy, but it didn’t work. You may be highly sensitive and care deeply about the world, making you feel overwhelmed, stressed, or burnt out. You might be struggling with anxiety, depression, or substance abuse. You might identify as a member of the LGBTQ Neurodiverse community and want support in navigating societal challenges while still being authentically yourself. You may feel lost or confused about your purpose.

Are you here because you feel tired, stuck, and often at odds with yourself? Because – despite feeling desperate to feel something different – you find yourself in the same old patterns? Replaying the same painful memories, worries, and harsh self-talk? Maybe people, even therapists, have commented on how self-aware you are. But that doesn't seem to translate to feeling any better. Maybe you've tried self-care practices, meditation, or yoga and they helped. But you can't shake the feeling that there's more to explore on your healing path. I'm here for folks looking to heed that wild call to look inward.

I specialize in chronic pain/illness, complex trauma, sexual reclamation, and spiritual integration. As a somatic therapist, I believe that it is through working with the body and the mind together that the deepest healing is found. What if I invited you to dive as deeply into your shadows as you wish, and discover the gifts you’ve forgotten in your spirit and body? I invite you to embrace the parts of yourself that feel pain, anger, sadness, or afraid and offer them kindness, letting your emotions move in ways that are safe. I invite you to celebrate the glimmers of hope, the small moments of change, and feel proud of yourself.

Is anxiety keeping you from living your life? Do you feel like that physical feelings like pain, exhaustion, and tension make it difficult to make changes? If you're struggling with daily and consuming anxiety, therapy can be a great next step. I work with my clients so that we can find tangible ways to cope with anxiety while also looking triggers and/or root causes.

Feminist Therapists

How does feminist therapy work?

Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.

What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?

Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.

How long does feminist therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

Does feminist therapy work?

As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
