My special interests involve serving transgender, non-binary, and other adult members of the LGBTQIA+ population, as well as adults struggling with the impacts of trauma and PTSD.
I decided to become a therapist because of my passion for helping others. My mission is to help others heal and grow. When people have a safe space to explore their concerns, the possibilities for healing and growth are endless. It is an honor for me to provide that space and empower others to identify the next steps in their journey. I facilitate a welcoming, safe, judgment-free zone. I promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. My approach is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive.

My clinical approach is to work with you to emphasize your personal strengths and to help you discover ways to feel at peace with yourself, especially when facing stressful times. I work with individuals and couples to help you feel supported as we partner together to accomplish your goals.

My best fit client is an individual or couple or family that is ready for change. I work best with clients who are ready to embrace themselves or relationships in a nonjudgemental and accountable way. I will at times provide therapeutic homework and I can extend sessions to longer than hour because people need to express themselves in more than 55 minutes sometimes. If you are someone who likes to think outside of the box, you will enjoy my expressive arts background that supports inner wisdom and treats you, the client, as the other expert in the room.

You and your partner are struggling to communicate. The emotional intimacy has lost its spark and physical connection is fading. We aren't connecting and the stress is high. You want to heal together instead of growing apart. You want to be a better partner! You need to shake up how you talk to each other in order to make this to work; there is so much at stake to maintain the relationship you've built. There is so much you want to share with your partner, and you need help learning how to engage again. You can learn how to be vulnerable with one another by increasing your communication skills and learning how to listen again.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
