Before going into private practice, I was a Clinical Manager at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. After the September 11th attacks, I was retained by major corporations to provide counseling to employees suffering from trauma. In 1993, I co-founded the NYC Balkan Rape Crisis Task Force and traveled to Croatia to provide assistance to war survivors. In addition to my work experience, I have extensive post-graduate training... I have a Certificate from the Women's Therapy Centre Institute in Eating and Body Image Problems and from the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

My expertise is in the area of eating disorders, specializing in improving body image, enhancing self-esteem, and addressing psychological aspects of bariatric weight loss surgery. Using a non-dieting approach leads to a healthier relationship with food. I facilitate a group for adults, identifying triggers as well as developing coping strategies and relapse prevention techniques.

I offer my clients a space to explore feelings using a creative and holistic approach. I use art, mindfulness, and meditation to help clients gain a deeper awareness into themselves and to facilitate a process of growth to help individuals become better versions of themselves. I work together with each client to set goals and set each individual up for success. As art can be sometimes intimidating I remind my clients that the art is there as their guide to help them go deeper and connect to themselves. There is no art experience needed and never judgment in the artwork.

I am a down to earth and compassionate individual, couples and family therapist with over 25 years experience. Before going into full time private practice I worked in inpatient psychiatry and chemical dependency as a therapist and a supervisor in two teaching hospitals in Manhattan. I went on to conduct clinical training seminars for a mental health consulting agency across the country. Hello, I am a clinical psychologist with more than 17 years of experience providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties. I received my Masters in Education from Harvard University and my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University.
