Together, we will discover the patterns that lead you to feel stuck, isolated and stressed.
Struggling with depression, the loss of a loved one or a relationship, career dissatisfaction, or just overall stagnation in your life can be extremely isolating. My intention is to help you feel less alone as you navigate these times and to help you know and love yourself better. I work with people who are trying to make sense of their existence, what it means to be human, to suffer, to heal and grow. People wanting to live a more authentic life but aren't sure what's holding them back. I offer a space to explore your inner world as a step in the process of becoming more conscious and aware of what makes life meaningful to you.

I enjoy working with many different kinds of concerns such as life transitions, grief and bereavement, sexuality and gender identity, eating disorders, relationship struggles, and stress.
Sometimes life's stressors can weigh us down and make going through day-to-day life feel challenging and even isolating. You don't have to go through this alone. Counseling is a process of self-discovery and understanding, as well as a way to pursue a life that is fulfilling, meaningful, and enjoyable. I am here to draw out and build on your strengths, aid you in understanding yourself, and help you make changes to improve your everyday life.

I'm experienced in addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, grief, and self-worth.
I have over 6 years of experience working with victims/survivors of domestic violence and abuse. Entrusting someone with your most painful experiences and deepest thoughts is the scariest and bravest thing you may ever do. Together we can unravel the familial, cultural, and societal messages that have told you that you are not enough, that you are at fault, or that you deserved what happened to you. It would be an honor work with you.

Do you often find yourself comparing yourself to those around you, wondering how they all seem to have it all figured out while you are just trying to hold it together? You are stressed, on edge, and wondering if anything will ever change. You may find yourself struggling to enjoy things in life, maybe even pulling back from friends and family because they may not understand. You are ready to make a change, to find balance, to be you – but you have no idea where to begin.

In order for all of us to grow and heal, it is imperative to spend time investigating the deeper elements of our personalities. With that said, an ideal client would be someone interested in putting effort into exploring their innermost thoughts and feelings. I work to offer a multi-faceted approach to treatment that will help my clients work through issues related to the many aspects of self-identity, interpersonal relations, trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression. I consider it a sign of strength to begin searching for a therapist, and a sign of courage to take the leap into deep explorations of Self.

I enjoy working with women, teens, and first responders in the areas of anxiety, stress, self-esteem, depression, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, trauma, and life transitions. It is within the context of our relationship with self and others that we find or lose balance. It can be hard communicating our feelings and needs with others in an effective way. I offer a whole person, mind-body approach to treatment within the context of a safe and trustworthy therapeutic relationship.

Everything looks good on paper, but you’re still feeling stressed, anxious, and irritable. Maybe you struggle with perfectionism, procrastination, or imposter syndrome. Your relationships might suffer, or you don’t feel like your life is aligned with who you really are. At these times, we can lean too heavily on things (alcohol, “scrolling”, overworking) that temporarily help, but don’t get us where we’d like to be. I work with people who want to look more deeply inside to create lasting change in their lives and their relationship to themselves. I'm here to help you fulfill the potential you have for joy, connection, and success.

Marriage is fucking hard. I heard a quote recently where someone asked the secret to making marriage work. The response was, “We never wanted to get divorced at the same time.” Marriage can feel like a roller coaster. Then add the obstacles of children, work schedules and stress, and daily ups and downs and you may find yourself miles apart from your partner. What happened to the fun? What happened to the intimacy and connection? Where the hell did it go? It’s time to make your marriage the priority. It’s time to reconnect and reignite the fire that was once there. It is possible to salvage and repair what has been broken.

Peace is available to you and life doesn't have to be perfect for you to be okay in the midst of it. Anxiety and stress can feel overwhelming, but there are techniques available to help. I would be honored to join with you on your journey toward a greater understanding of yourself and your experiences; and I will help you integrate your experiences in a way that helps you see how your past trials have created your present strengths.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
