While I am very experienced with a multitude of issues, I have had special focus on reducing anxiety and stress and have written a book on using mind body stress reduction.
Are you in your fifties, sixties or beyond looking for someone with life experience and clinical experience who can really understand and support you as you adjust to changes and challenges? Are you looking to revision your life at this time in order to live it most fully? Perhaps you are experiencing changes having to do with becoming an empty nester or looking ahead to retirement. Perhaps you are searching for ways to revitalize your career or your relationships as your circumstances change.

Paul Coelho says, “Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.” I support clients on the journey back to themselves. We often put pressure on ourselves to “be” a certain way - so much that life can feel like acting instead of living. This acting can feel draining and lead to increased stress, anxiety and depression. I believe that therapy is a space where you can take off the facade and reconnect with your genuine, whole self - finding freedom and renewed vitality. I invite you to begin your journey.

The stress and frustration that can accompany a traumatic situation can be overwhelming, terrifying, and exhausting. I offer a safe space filled with compassion, empathy and encouragement where I work with clients on coping strategies, self-care and reducing anxiety and depression. I focus on a strengths-based approach, helping clients examine both their inner and outer resources and supports in the face of adversity and trauma, emphasizing a client’s own resilience, bravery and power.

Have you been feeling stressed or just unhappy in your relationship? Because you don't feel the kindness or friendliness you both had before? You might come up with arguments and yelling before starting a topic that you know is a serious problem in your relationship. Such as the affair, talking about starting a family, financial topics, and also love and intimacy. It can be very frustrating if you feel like you're not making progress in your relationship. But come work with me individually to get the stress out, or work together as a couple to see me. I can help you both identity the problem and great goals and the love map together

We all have areas of our lives in which we thrive and areas that cause us stress and worry. Recognizing our strengths and weaknesses and finding ways to maximize our potential are critical to developing a fuller, more satisfying life. I am an eclectic psychologist who uses multiple approaches as I work with my clients to uncover problematic behavior patterns in their lives. Once we understand what is causing the difficulties, we develop coping mechanisms and tools to incrementally work towards a more fulfilling life.

Ever have your mind go faster than your actions? Ever been told to "just stop stressing?' In this ever changing world, people with fast brains take the brunt of the stress while wearing a mask of togetherness.
Ms. Christian approaches counseling with a strength-base perspective, meeting clients where they are to help them get to where they want to be. She is an outside the box thinker when helping her clients understand that they are an integral part of reaching their goals towards healing. As a military spouse, she has experience about the stressors and culture of the military. She has taken this experience to further provide care to people in the LGBTQIA+ military community as well.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
