I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with individuals and families on their journey to improve their mental health and well-being. I provide a safe, caring, non-judgmental, and strength based approach.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, self-criticism, relationship problems, symptoms of complex trauma, or difficulty during life transitions. When these feelings are acute it can feel unbearable and all we want is some relief. I work with people to address uncomfortable symptoms in the present, while also exploring their meaning and source including connections with earlier life experiences. We then look to the future and what is trying to emerge from you. I work well with people who have a desire to know themselves in a deeper way and to feel more connected to soul and life.

My aim is to create a caring therapeutic relationship with you that is founded in empathy, trust, and respect. Together we will create a safe and open environment for brave and insightful explorations. I offer collaborative, client-centered therapy that supports the development of personal insights and practical coping skills through curiosity, mindfulness, and compassion.

I am a people person. I am passionate about my work because I love what I do. I am a good listener. My style is laid back and I provide an emotionally safe environment, without judgment, for all my clients. Personally I have been married for 20 years and am familiar with blended family dynamics with bio and step-children. I am a cancer survivor and currently care for my elderly parent.

I've been in private practice for over 34 years in the San Francisco Bay Area working with individuals ,couples and families seeking support for trauma, life transitions, and development. Whatever stimulus propels an individual to seek support, can be an opportunity for each person to engage more fully in their life. The therapeutic process is an organic one that involves a mutual exploration between myself and clients with the client's needs and purpose informing the process. I am a Geropsychologist which means I specialize with older adults. I provide forensic neuropsychological evaluations to assist with decision making capacity for the following domains: medical/financial consent, sexual consent, testamentary consent, driving, independent living. Evaluations/therapy also assist with diagnoses for dementia, depression, anxiety, and/or grief/loss. I work with family members/caregivers caring for those with dementia and perhaps behavioral challenges associated with the dementia. I currently work at the San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) for the Department of Geropsychiatry since 2007.

For women, men, and couples midlife and long term infertility are life stages that can be filled with grief, confusion, transition and lack of control.
