My practice focuses on relationship-building whether it be with someone you are dating, a partner, immediate/extended family members, the workplace, etc. At the start in addition to getting to know each other, we will explore the obstacles to developing relationships that provide emotional intimacy, trust and support. Attachment style is explored in addition to the strengths revealed by shadow and dream work. Short- and long-term goal are continuously reviewed. Homework assignments are given that carry the momentum of gains forward.
I offer active involvement as a 'team member' in this dynamic and often joyous process. Clients often comment that I really try to get a full picture. Relationship building applies to all ages inc. long-term partners. I often work with 20-30 year olds as they strive to be self-aware and independent. I am grounded in current relationship styles/patterns.
I encourage clients to think of the best way to make use of their time in therapy when we start. Time spent in session is often exciting and revealing. Time flies.. Clients like the questions I ask and feel I am seeing them and following their stories.
