Opening your eyes to the dark and you know before you look at the clock that little time has passed. Sleep is elusive and your brain is constantly "on." Worries are overwhelming and it's difficult to remember the last time you felt calm. Everything feels like so much work. Getting up, bathing, eating... not to mention taking care of the kids and going to work. All those activities that used to bring joy no longer do. The depression has taken hold and it feels unshakable.
