Announcement icon Due to COVID-19 restrictions, I only see clients using telehealth services that are HIPAA-compliant.
I'm a Psychotherapist, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and a Life Coach. I work with adults experiencing the devastating effects of PTSD, complex trauma, trauma bonding, religious trauma, childhood trauma, and related psychological afflictions. I help people get more out of life, make choices more effectively, and produce better results in their personal and professional lives.
Trauma is one of the most challenging experiences to recover from. Whether it was a single incident or prolonged exposure to something traumatic, it can change the way we see ourselves, others, and the world. As a Trauma Therapist, I ensure that my clients have the tools and treatment they need to restore or improve their functional and relational lives.
Working our way through trauma could be difficult and even overwhelming. I’ve had the privilege of helping clients as they went through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Whether you are just reaching out for the first time or you need a new perspective on your recovery, I am here to offer you the help you need.

Federico G Carmona's Groups

Couples Therapy (Telehealth)

Issues like loss of trust, blame allocation, expression of intimacy, and trauma from previous adverse experiences significantly impact couples’ quality of life. Improving communication, learning to compromise, and committing to prioritize the relationship is easier to say than to live it out. And feeling stuck and alone in a relationship is more common than we’d like to think. Relationships are not easy. This group helps couples rebuild and maintain a healthy relationship in a supportive space alongside other couples with similar goals. Issues of trauma are also addressed and the way they impact the relationship.

Premarital Counseling (Telehealth)

It makes sense to avoid postnuptial disappointment and possible divorce by anticipating challenges and learning how to navigate them in marriage. Premarital counseling helps identify potential points of contention before they become critical problems. “How are we going to communicate when we see things differently? What about my career? When are we going to have children and how many? What about my religion?” These are some of the questions couples can learn to discuss and resolve alongside other couples in a safe and trusting environment. Building a functional and loving relationship requires work.

Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse (Telehealth)

People who have experienced sexual abuse as children face many challenges, especially in their relational lives. Over 30% of women and nearly 20% of men have been victims of sexual abuse in childhood or adolescence. This type of abuse is associated with long-term symptoms of depression, anxiety, dissociation, eating disorders, somatic and sexual problems, shame, and guilt. These symptoms tend to accumulate stress and be triggered by it, prompting emotional reactions difficult to control. This group is a psychoeducational and supportive experience. The curricula have been designed to lead group members through the four stages of trauma recovery.
