Hi I'm Maria and I'm glad you're here. I enjoy working with individuals from different backgrounds and have worked with individuals across different demographics. I specialize in trauma (especially intergenerational trauma), PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and life transitions. I've also worked in inpatient settings and I'm comfortable working with diagnosis including (but not limited to) Bipolar Disorders and Personality Disorders. I take pride in establishing a strong therapeutic alliance and getting to know you in order to help you attain your goals and reach your fullest potential.
My therapy approach includes a general humanistic approach of empathy and compassion. I use more of a therapeutic approach that's based in Gestalt and Existential therapy while using approaches from CBT, ACT, DBT and MI. I'm also trained in EMDR and use that for trauma, phobias and others.
I genuinely believe that therapy is a healthy outlet for anyone; whether you have a diagnosis or not. I have helped individuals work through life changes, career problems, chronic self-harm, etc. I believe that anyone who reaches out deserves dignity, respect, and empathy.
