"I am not crazy," is the first thing many hear when thinking of mental health. Mental health is less about being crazy and more about over all well-being. Research shows that expressing ourselves can lead to positive change and better understanding of ourselves. During our journey together, I respect my clients by bringing in a culturally informed and non-judgmental lens, utilizing personal, religious/spiritual, and/or cultural strengths approach to healing. Together we will work on listening to our bodies and minds, integrating both in ways that bring positivity and restoration to ourselves and our relationships.
I am a Muslim, American, South Asian woman. As someone who has faced multiple challenges carrying and honoring these identities, I offer a non-judgmental, empathic, and person-centered approach to help people. With a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy, I am trained in Narrative Exposure Therapy to help heal from traumatic stress, including refugees.
The best thing is to reach out to me to see if we are a good fit for each other. Therapy is not only about interventions but very much about therapist and client relationship. I look forward to hearing from you as you take your first steps towards bringing tranquility and peace in your life and of those around you.
