Mina Roustayi, PhD, SEP, is a NY State licensed bilingual learning specialist, dual-certified in early childhood general and special education with a specialty in high-functioning autism. She is also trained as a Somatic Experience Practioner to promote self-awareness, self-regulation, and cognitive function in her students. In-home or school-based services are available in 5 languages: English, Spanish, German, Persian, and French. Multi-sensory educational and therapeutic strategies and Natural Environment ABA Teaching are research-based to suit individual children and families. The goal is to spark smart success toward school readiness and social integration.

Hello and welcome to my page! I believe that all individuals are capable of healing and growth with the help of an understanding, compassionate, and supportive therapist. Therapy is a vulnerable process and I strive to provide an environment where my client feels safe. I also believe that insight alone is not enough for change to occur and therefore I bring experiential work into the room, often engaging the body and somatic experience in our work. My approach to therapy integrates Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic Theory, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP).

Our goal is to promote brain health through integrative approach that is tailored and personalized to your need and the specifics of your brain, physiology, history, and life circumstances. Many of our clients come to us because they understand that their issues is not a character flaw but the culmination of genetic and environmental variables that have led to the brain being hardwired a certain way. They also understand that the brain is very plastic and that it can be retrained! We work with Adults & Children with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Brain Injury, Stress, Developmental issues, or simply Peak Performance.

As a trauma therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I help humans increase their bodily awareness about who they are, why they do the things they do, and who they would like to become. Having trained in Sex Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EMDR, Art therapy, and Inner Relationship Focusing, I integrate these approaches in the gestalt. I work with people who experience difficulty accessing, connecting with, and verbalizing their feelings, as well as those with low self-esteem within their relationships.
