Seeking help is hard. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has practiced for decades focusing on assisting Individuals of teenagers, adults, couples and families. I utilize insight oriented and cognitive behavioral techniques, psycho-education, as well as many other therapeutic concepts to promote a supportive atmosphere so that my clients gain acceptance and control over their issues. I am a Psychotherapist, Life Coach, and Consultant. In a career that began twenty-five years ago in the Middle East, now established in NY, I have seen clients from every conceivable background who have sought nurturing guidance to face trauma, anxiety, grief and sadness. Often, whether working with persons suffering from loss or separation, abuse victims, veterans, refugees, or families of substance abusers, I have witnessed that moment of clarity in a client when they realize there is actually hope for a better, more satisfying life. This, I believe, is the essence of therapy and I strive to smooth the path towards and beyond it.

Banafsheh Sanjari is a licensed clinical social worker. Banafsheh provides a strengths-based, person-centered, eclectic approach tailored to each patient’s goals and needs. She empowers her patients so they can achieve their goals and build a life they want. In the session, Banafsheh uses cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques. She creates a culturally-sensitive, comfortable, safe environment for her patients so they can speak from the heart. Banafsheh has been providing therapy since 2016 and works with patients up to 64 years old.

I strive to understand each individual's issues and needs through the different phases of the therapeutic relationship. I find patterns of thinking which surface from recurrent automatic thoughts. I thus obtain a comprehensive understanding of the person in his/her functioning. Through a pro-active, attuned, caring, neutral, compassionate and non-judgmental stance, an empowering process is developed, leading to an enhancement of self-esteem. I have come to see how people can better understand themselves and their relationships, and am able to to help them make improved choices for themselves, and to live more meaningful lives.

Mina Roustayi, PhD, SEP, is a NY State licensed bilingual learning specialist, dual-certified in early childhood general and special education with a specialty in high-functioning autism. She is also trained as a Somatic Experience Practioner to promote self-awareness, self-regulation, and cognitive function in her students. In-home or school-based services are available in 5 languages: English, Spanish, German, Persian, and French.
