I have many years of experience working with individuals who struggle with mental health and addiction problems. I use a skill-based approach to treatment called dialectical behavioral therapy. This type of treatment focuses on learning how to live in the moment, manage interpersonal relationships effectively, handle life's challenges with grace and competence, and understand and deal with feelings in constructive ways. Using my training and diagnostic knowledge I will develop a comprehensive treatment plan that emphasizes relapse prevention and living a life worth living. I work with a team of other mental health professionals including psychiatrists, and counselors.

I emphasize motivational development to create hope. I believe there are effective treatments available; I work hard with my patients to provide that to them. Therapy is a process when two people work together to address problems. Therapy is something that I "do with my patients and not to them."

My training is in both clinical and forensic psychology. I provide expert evaluations in criminal and civil cases. Providing services in a timely fashion is very important to me because I know people who reach out for help are often hurting and need to be seen as soon as possible.
