Are you dealing with grief, trauma, parenting concerns, relationship problems, sexual dysfunction, or marital issues, such as unsettled disagreements, infidelity, or divorce? Maybe that spark seems to be missing. Have you tried therapy before, and it seemed not to work? Well, you need a therapist that you can connect with. Therapy success, in part, depends upon the relationship with your therapist. You need a therapist who specializes in the area of your concern. If you would like someone well-equipped to help you navigate life and you are willing to work for the change you need, I look forward to hearing from you.

I'm amazed and moved by the process of healing and growth in this life, and it feels like an honor that I get to partner with others within their own processes. I offer a warm, genuine, and practical approach to therapy that centers your human needs and emotions alongside your unique identity and values. My work is grounded in deep personal curiosity, training and application of mindfulness, the Internal Family Systems model, and positive neuroplasticity. I've seen the power of bringing a supportive awareness to one's patterns and burdens and turning towards experiences of safety, satisfaction and connection that affirm you.

Navigating the world right now can be extremely challenging especially if you are a woman. Are you the "dependable" friend or family member that is "always there"? Do you have difficulty saying no due to feelings of guilt or fear of acceptance? Have you worked your entire life to do everything just right and now you’re finding difficulty achieving happiness and fulfillment due to excessive worrying and preoccupation with perfectionism? Would you describe yourself as someone who goes after their goals and beats the odds despite life's curved balls? If any of this sounds familiar, then you’ve stumbled on the right profile.

My specialties include trauma, anxiety, adjusting to new situations (family changes, jobs, moving, etc), OCD, and having depressive symptoms.
Therapy does not have to be scary or overwhelming; sometimes a little humor can help. I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and am a solution-focused therapist. I work with teenagers and adults and my goal is to work towards people not needing to see a therapist and being able to have skills to cope on their own. I collaborate with clients to figure out treatment goals to know what their individual therapy entails. Also, I provide a supportive environment where people can be themselves and know they will be understood. I am very supportive of diverse clientele and love learning about new people.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
