My primary focus is in working with young children - (RPT - registered play therapist). I also offer adult individual, pre marriage (SYMBIS certified), marriage, couples, and family counseling. I believe that every human being was created to thrive and fulfill specific purposes throughout his or her lifetime. These can be achieved through developing natural strengths and influencing others as a result of a growth mindset.

We all experience times in our lives where we need a person to talk to who is non-judgemental and supportive. The power of being able to open up to another person can unlock what has always been within and provide a new path filled with growth and hope.

I have worked with a wide range of clients who have experienced trauma in their lives either through abuse, sexual assaults, or death of close friends and family. One of my specialties is assisting individuals find peace with their experiences and overcoming anxiety and stress brought on life events. I also often work with clients who are in the process of deconstructing their faith and can offer a nonjudgment place to discuss concerns in this area of life. I am also trained in EMDR therapy.

Life can be overwhelming, and trying to understand and process these experiences can be difficult. Understanding your mental health and how to care for your well-being can be a life-changing experience for many. Those suffering from anxiety, depression, relational/familial conflict or trauma, or just looking for an outside perspective are a few of the reasons why some seek therapy. My Therapeutic goal is to help people help themselves. I am licensed in Texas my area with the most expertise would involve children, adolescents, and Teens. I was an Elementary School teacher for 15 years at multiple K - 12 Campuses, a K 12 School Counselor, and now a Nationally Certified LPC, and a school Psychologist intern.

Now accepting new clients! I offer services in-person and virtually under the supervision of Kelsey Brewer, MS, LPC-S, CTTP-II. As a counselor, I strive to help my clients feel comfortable and equip them with the necessary tools to navigate the challenging parts of life in a way that feels like having a cup of coffee with an old friend. I aim to create a cozy, safe environment that encourages open conversation for you to speak freely without judgment.

I believe counseling is a dynamic process that is different for each individual and family. I view the relationship between therapist and client(s) as one of the most important elements in therapeutic success. I strive to promote wellness and healing in an accepting and peaceful environment where clients can express concerns and share thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I work with adolescents and adults with a wide range of problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma and attachment. I am a certified EMDR clinician.

The Family Center for Therapy and Assessment (TFCTA) is a private practice owned by Dr. Gaston Rougeaux-Burnes (Dr. R.B.). Dr. R.B. is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in working with families, couples, and children, from all over West Texas. Dr. R.B. offers a variety of therapeutic services including individual therapy, couples therapy, and psychological assessment.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) my job is to work with clients, couples, and families to help them understand and overcome the breakdown of communication, emotional and behavioral challenges that can lead to problems in family units. As an MFT, my ultimate goal is to strive to help families understand the root causes of family systems breakdowns. As a husband, father, partner, and military veteran, I have extensive experience working with diverse cultures. My background includes working with Veterans with PTSD and their family members, as well as individuals, couples, and families to overcome temporary disagreements.
