I have been working with clients as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2021, and I come from a primarily solution-focused narrative approach. As a systemic therapist I understand that although we are individuals, we are part of larger support systems that affect our mental health. Whether you are an individual, family, or part of a relationship, we will work together to emphasize your strengths and progress toward your goals. My belief is that you are the expert in your life and I am here to help you unlock the tools you already have inside while building skills and healthier strategies for the stress you experience.

My goal is to help you pull out your strengths and guide you to your desired goal by using the approach that best suits you as an individual, a couple, or a family.
"There is always a solution, always an answer, and always a better way of coping with life's situations." I know it may be difficult coping with the challenges and changes of life. However, there is always a way of relief. Sometimes we need help finding our way. I've had the privilege of assisting many in finding that way. Let's partner up and find the way that's right for you so that you can be anchored and unmovable as you go forward.

Does it seem like things used to be satisfying and you can't figure out how they went sour? Maybe you're pulling your hair out trying to get the other to hear and understand you? Whether the struggle is with your relationship with yourself, a partner or spouse, a family member, or a friend, relationship snags hurt and can be difficult and messy to sort through.

I have experience working with children (educational and therapeutic environments), service members and family members of service members, people experiencing anxiety and depression, and more.
I believe that life can be challenging at times, but it’s important to know you don’t have to go through these challenges alone. Therapy is a journey and it looks different for everyone. Ultimately you are the expert on your life and I am here to offer support and help you where I can. I use different styles and therapy modalities based on the clients needs. I take a very caring and sensitive approach but with a more direct style in sessions. I believe that we are complex and with this in mind take a physical, mental, and spiritual approach to therapy.

Whether you want support for yourself, your partner, your relationship, or the whole family - you are welcome!.
Birth and motherhood are meant to be addictive. Yet so many of us feel anxious in pregnancy, experience birth trauma and struggle postpartum. In a culture where mothers are not supported, and the system prioritizes "safety" above all, women are often left stuck in survival stress after birth of their child. But please know that healing, love, and joy is available for you. Whether you wish to process and integrate your birth experience, prepare for the transition to the new role, or address your hopes and needs in pregnancy or postpartum, I am here to walk alongside and hold space for you as you navigate the perinatal journey.

We are all given a blank sheet in the beginning. What we choose to put on this blank sheet determines our outcome. Through life we are shaped by our surroundings, interactions and family. But not all of us are given the tools to write our own stories. Nature created us, but nurture guides us. As a clinician, I work with my clients to help build their awareness of how their learned subconscious understandings of life have impacted how they engage, interact and understand others.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
