I have been a social worker for 18 years, working alongside children and families to preserve wholeness and solidity while providing coping skills, intervention, and case management. I believe for every storm in our life, there is a bright rainbow at the end. Sometimes, we need a nonjudgmental person to lend an ear while discussing our past traumas, hurt, and issues we have endured. Therapy should be focusing on the healing of the past and moving forward to become the best version of ourselves, find our purpose and live it to the fullest.

TriCare Counseling and Consulting started accepting clients in 2010 as a practice that partners with professionals to form a caring team dedicated to improving the qualify of life for children, adolescents, and adults who deal with mental health disorders. Our therapists are available for individual, couples, and family therapy. We have a culturally competent staff and have had great success working with clients regardless of background or lifestyle orientation. We address issues of spirituality, identity formation, and self-actualization. We accept clients ages 4 and up. Psychological Evaluations are available. As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe, client-centered environment for my clients to explore their feelings and patterns of thinking while setting and working toward their personal goals. I utilize evidenced-based practices including CBT. I also love to incorporate play and art therapy techniques in my practice with children and adolescents. I am also passionate about teaching clients about brain-based techniques founded on neuroscience to help them better understand how to manage stress. Christian counseling upon request. I bring a unique blend of experiences to my role as a therapist. I’m a former infantry soldier, current U.S. Army Chaplain of 19+ years, and therapist. As a war time veteran, I understand the challenges of navigating through difficult times. It isn’t easy to admit we might need help, that we have fears that no one will understand what we’re experiencing, or if I seek help some people may judge us. If we’re able to get past those initial thoughts of judgment, fear, or vulnerability we may find that there are people out there that will hear us, be with us, and help us during our difficult times. I would like to be that person for you.

I believe in creating a place for those of the neurodivergent population, or those questioning if they are neurodivergent to be seen, heard, and understood. My passion extends to those who have suffered from the grit of life such as grief, trauma, substance abuse, and uncertainty, and providing a safe space to process the differing events within their lives. I work with individuals, families, and children seeking guidance on understand their unique situations and help navigate the different situations that life may bring expected or unexpected.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked with adolescents, adults, and families for over 10 years. As a therapist, I believe that we have most of the tools we already need to make change. Therapy is simply a place where these tools can be identified and strengthened. I also believe people make lasting change through interpersonal relationships. Effective therapeutic treatment occurs through a meaningful, empowering, and reparative relationship. In therapy, I focus on relationships and how these impact our past & present relationships. I have experience with trauma, anxiety, depression, and attachment issues.

Betsy is trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Somatic therapies. She enjoys helping clients reduce physical and emotional stress, release old burdens, guilt and shame, improve self-esteem and vitality, and heal from old trauma. She finds these therapies to be transformative, healing, and life changing. With more than thirty years' experience practicing psychotherapy, Betsy holds a master's degree in counseling psychology, Keene, NH and a bachelor's degree in Transpersonal Psychology, Burlington College, Vermont.
