I was raised on the beautiful Big Island of Hawai’i and served for years as a high school teacher in Kona. I love working with youth and their families and decided to pursue a graduate degree in mental health counseling to serve this community’s youth in a different way. I specialize in working with children/ teens (ages 3-18) and their families, particularly those with a history of trauma. I believe long-term change happens within the family system, and I try to involve parents and caregivers consistently throughout the treatment process because of this.

As a neuropsychologist, I provide neuropsychological assessments, diagnostic services, and treatment to a wide range of clients, from questions about a child's learning difficulties to concerns about a senior's memory that has started to impact their daily living. I also provide a wide range of evaluations for legal related issues from Independent Medical Examinations, fitness for duty to legal issues; such as testamentary capacity. I approach each person with care and consideration for their emotional well-being, cultural background, age, and life experiences that may affect cognitive functioning. My goal is to provide a comprehensive and quality evaluation product whether that be for an individual client or third-party. My endeavor is to give the client the information they need to develop the best treatment plan for neuropsychological health or legal outcome. An appropriate diagnosis is dependent upon a good history, interviewing family members, teachers and review of records as appropriate. I strive to develop a treatment plan tailored to the individual with written reports appropriate for the consumer, be they parents, adult children, physicians, or lawyers.

As a marriage and family therapist, I provide therapeutic services to a range of clients, from those struggling with intimate partner conflict to navigating the obstacles of co-parenting. Personally I am from a Christian background, but respect and work with people within their value system. With over ten years experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families in outdoor, educational and therapeutic settings she brings a dynamic style, utilizing a strength-based approach. Sophia Bullard studied at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, receiving her Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 2021 and her Masters of Science in Community and Trauma Counseling in May of 2022. Sophia is currently working towards the LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) credential in the state of Hawaii. Additionally, she has future goals of becoming a Registered Play Therapist and Certified Yoga Therapist. Sophia’s clinical experience stems from working as a counseling intern at various public elementary and middle schools in the Greater Philadelphia area.
