Life can be stressful and overwhelming at times. We all need a place where we can go and process our feelings and experiences in a non-judgemental environment with someone we trust. With over 20 years of clinical experience, I have assisted clients and their families with many different challenges including divorce, grief and loss, trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, sensory processing challenges and more. My passion is helping adults to better understand their thoughts, behaviors and choices. My current practice focuses on assisting individuals to shift their emotions and energy into a more positive, peaceful state of being.

I come from a community mental health background. Therefore I have worked with many situations and people. I have also spent the last couple of years working in helping people who are in crisis resolve their problems and restore their hope. Often helping them to identify their strengths. I have worked with adolescents struggling with life events and self harming behaviors. Couples counseling, geriatric counseling, and a great deal with trauma and past abuse.

Megan Aliffi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Animal Assisted Therapist. Ms. Aliffi has been practicing evidence-based individual, family and group therapy as well as diagnostic assessment since 2015. Ms. Aliffi provides a unique focus on strength-based interventions to make therapy enjoyable as well as highly effective. Specific interventions include: CBT, DBT, Trauma Focused-CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, CBIT and Parent Management Training. She maintains extensive experience in crisis-intervention, OCD, mood disorders and PTSD.

Hishara is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist who works with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples from diverse cultures. She uses a holistic, client-centered, cultural-oriented and strength-based perspective in her work. Hishara will also engage in animal assisted therapy with her "official" side-kick Lava, when it is therapeutically appropriate. She treats a wide range of individual and relational issues, meets people where they're at in their journey towards healing and works within their reality to help them recognize and build on their own strengths to face and overcome challenges.

I then continued my education, receiving my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on couples and family therapy from the University of Northern Colorado in 2023.

I am a creative and playful child and family therapist who helps people with toxic stress, relationship issues, and anxiety. Kids and teens find my approach helps them work through their challenges with play, creative activities, and their families. I offer expert trauma care with advanced EMDR and parts work to free people from the effects of their worst experiences, and I can do this for very little kids. I help people who have anger outbursts, panic, dissociation, shutting down, and younger-than-their-age behavior. Families who want to be free of trauma, conflict, and worry will find a fun, caring, and accepting approach from me.

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to help others. Active listening, being empathetic, and showing compassion for others during tough times has always come naturally to me. I strive to bring these natural strengths, as well as the tools I have learned throughout my time as a student, to give the best possible care to each of my clients/families/couples. I believe that a client should be able to leave each therapy session with a greater understanding and self-awareness of how they can navigate through their lives.

Yet when you experience a loss that most people do not understand, it is also isolating, lonely, and confusing. You go through all the same impacts of any loss experience and yet it feels like everyone wants you to move on or they say things like “it could have been worse” or “it wasn’t that big of a deal”, minimizing your experience. Whatever the story of your loss, and whatever you have heard about your loss, your pain is real and it is valid.

Whether you have experienced small setbacks or major traumas, you are influenced by memories and past experiences, and this can impact your current self. I believe in creating a safe therapeutic environment in which clients can be vulnerable enough to explore what is within themselves.
