Challenges and Failures doesn’t mean nothing has been accomplished; there is always the opportunity to learn something. Always remember that God isn’t surprised by our stumbles. His love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness are bigger than any mess we make. God never sees any of us as failures; He only sees us as learners. We fail only when we don’t learn from each experience. The decision is up to us—we can choose to turn a failure into a hitching post or into a guidepost in our lives.

My philosophy of healing is like working your way through a set of nesting dolls from the outer doll representing why you want to heal: trauma, attachment/relationship injury, depression, grief, and anxiety. The next doll holds the symptoms, thoughts, and feelings of the first doll. The next doll may may hold your negative beliefs you have perceived about yourself, others, and the world. The next doll may hold consequences and life impairments. The final doll represents your core and authentic self. The person you would be without all of the other dolls in relationship to the unity of mind, soul, heart, body and spirit.

I utilize an individualized approach to target clinical symptoms and personality issues. My interventions are evidence based with the goal of empowering others to better understand the origins of their issues and to make meaningful changes, regardless of diagnostic labels. I believe everyone deserves to be assisted and supported to live to their full potential and particularly enjoy working with those who have experienced complex trauma from childhood and relationship experiences. I’ve had the joy of working in the counseling field for over 25 years in multiple settings including: private practice, inpatient and outpatient, home-based, school-based and residential detox. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the states of Ohio, West Virginia and North Carolina and have been offering counseling services since 1996.
