Welcome. Navigating the challenges of today's world can be hard to do alone. This journey can feel even more difficult when we are dealing with negative feelings and stressful events. I believe therapy is more than a place to talk about our feelings and experiences. Therapy should provide a warm and welcoming safe environment. It should be free of judgments and offer you the space to form a trusting and respectful therapeutic relationship on your own terms. As a therapist, I strive to provide transparency and compassion in a setting that is never rushed and always client lead, via Telehealth.

Accepting new clients! At some point in our lives, we recognize that what they’re doing isn’t working. We wake up and realize this isn’t the life we want to live. We don’t want to keep existing with so much stress, anxiety, anger, or isolation and crave connection, acceptance, and genuine happiness. We want things to be different, but don’t know how or where to start. I work with people who want to redefine their lives and reduce suffering, and help them get there. I work with individuals, couples, and those looking to integrate past psychedelic experiences to create lasting, positive change.

CURRENT limited openings. Anxiety, depression, self doubt, and daily stress can be so pervasive. Does the stress of daily life feel anxiety provoking and overwhelming? Are your job, relationships or friendships feeling stressful? Perhaps feeling stuck or unsettled is becoming a daily reality. It may feel like it's getting harder to thrive and telling people “no” feels hard or unmanageable. You may feel like you are alone, isolated and that you can’t talk with the people in your life about these issues. I want to help you figure some of this out, to learn to love and thrive in life again.

Come as you are... Leave different. You are here, seeking change. That is a beautiful place to start. I would be honored to join you in the process of exploring where you are stuck. We can explore how strategies that have served you well in the past are now holding you back or getting in your way. Our coping strategies can include unhelpful habits that keep us safe but lonely, hyper-vigilant but anxious, lives filled with numbing distractions while not feeling connected or engaged in meaning. Shame sneaks in and can sap the remaining joy right out of every moment. Give me a ring and we can identify, then challenge these cycles.

Are you having a difficult time managing emotions or thoughts that you once thought were manageable? Many people experience trauma or other adverse life events at some point in their lives. I believe each person has the potential to be free from the burden of symptoms that trauma, anxiety, and depression can create. People often come to counseling unsure of what they want to be different but knowing that they would like something to change. I enjoy working with people trying to identify goals and those who already have goals in mind.

As you transition from childhood to adulthood it can feel incredibly overwhelming, especially for many people with ADHD or other neurodivergence. Navigating school, anxiety, family relationships, friendships, trauma, and all the other stressors that life throws at you can feel impossible to take on alone. Adding in the stressors that can come with finding your true identity or navigating difficulties with attention can make it even harder. Maybe you're a teen trying to navigate the social stressors that come with this stage of life, or a young adult trying to make your way in the world.

My heart is for those struggling in their relationships. At our core, we as humans are built with a craving for connection. However, just because the need is innate doesn't mean it is easy - in fact experiencing relationships that heal and last can be the exact opposite. You may be in a season where your relationships feel stuck, hopeless, hurtful, and frustrating. The way towards peace and understanding can seem distant if not impossible. I see you and want to join you in your journey towards meaningful and authentic connection. Whichever relationship it may be, with the self, your family, or a partner, it is time for restoration.

Often times, life stressors within our significant relationships are what prompt us to seek additional support in the form of therapy. Similarly, when we experience emotional distress, it typically impacts important relationships and environments, including friendships, school and work. It is my goal to help individuals and families explore and solve their relational, emotional and behavioral concerns. My style of therapy is focused on symptom reduction rather than diagnoses or labels, and on improving one's overall health and quality of life.

Fundamentally, I seek to help people uncover the force that is within them all along- through cultivating a deeper understanding of their individual needs, values, and goals. I believe it is possible to experience peace in any of life’s circumstances. One thing that comes between us and this peace, however, is our thoughts - without intentional direction for our thoughts, we tend to fixate on our fears, anxieties, and doubts. When this happens, we turn inward and lose connection with what we believe in and the people around us. As your counselor, I aim to guide you to a deeper understanding and validation of your current experience while empowering you to refocus your attention on what is true and life-giving, reestablishing a calming connection with your values, beliefs, and loved ones.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Spokane?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
