I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has specialized in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families for over 9 years. My background and experiences include work in the public school systems, child welfare systems (child protective services, adoptions, and foster care), private counseling center for adolescents and families, therapeutic recreational services, intensive in-home counseling, and an emergency diagnostic residential facility. I have experience working with individuals and families who have experienced trauma, grief & loss, divorce, single parenting, job loss, family conflict, stress, domestic violence, substance abuse, and crisis situations. Scott has worked in several different areas, including private and state-run psychiatric hospitals with adults and children, as an outpatient therapist for a community mental health child and family program, and in a hospital emergency room to help assess individuals who might need hospitalization. These enriching experiences have allowed Scott the opportunity to develop competency in treating a broad range of clients with diverse mental health and substance use issues.

I am a Licensed Clinical psychologist who completed clinical training at Duke University, Harvard Medical School's Victims of Violence Program and at the University of Massachusetts and UNC-Chapel Hill. I provide highly specialized treatments for traumatic stress (posttraumatic stress disorders), grief/loss, major depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I am trained in highly specialized, evidenced-based therapies that have scientific research supporting their efficacy. I have also worked extensively with veterans, students and physicians coping with burnout.

I have loved to serve the community and use my natural ability to empathize. I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in May 2015.
