Over the past 20 years, I have helped children, adolescents, young adults and adults reach their full potential in many areas of their lives - school, career, health, family, and social settings. While working with individuals, I often incorporate their family or other close relationships to both identify problems and create effective solutions. A trusted therapy environment is often the best place to chart specific goals for a healthier and happier life.

I want you to be free of emotional pain, able to deal with life on life’s terms, and to find meaning/purpose in work, family, friendships, spiritually, and all other life areas.
Most people go to therapy because they are dealing with people who need to be in therapy. Many people see therapy as a one-sided conversation, with little opportunity for interaction or getting to experience each other as real people. I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you are looking for while enjoying the process as much as possible and experiencing yourself in new ways. Simply put, I don’t believe therapy has to always be a painful thing. Calling a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment (and maybe a deep breath) to call and see how I can help.

I love to learn and recently completed a year-long course in Internal Family Systems, an exciting and compassionate evidence-based model, great for treating trauma and inner conflict.
**Note: I am not currently accepting new patients.** We are all in trouble. Some of us are anxious, trying to avoid trouble at all costs. Some of us start trouble with loved ones for reasons we can't understand. Some of us get into trouble at school or at work. And many of us are troubled by past traumas that we can't seem to shake. My aim in therapy is to partner with you around your goals and your values, to figure out what's worth your time and trouble. Therapy is a time, just for you, to heal and grow at your own pace.

Family Therapy
If you're looking for family therapy in Richmond or for a Richmond family therapist these professionals provide family therapy services and structural family therapy services. They include family therapists and marriage family therapists. Therapists in Richmond using the techniques of 'family therapy' (also referred to as marriage and family therapy and family counseling) view change in terms of the systems of interaction between family members.

Family relationships often affect psychological well-being and, regardless of the origin of an issue, or whether it may be the "individual" or "family" who is presenting it, involving the family in the solution can be of great benefit. Families participate directly in sessions during which the family therapist helps conversations in a way that draws upon and builds the strengths, wisdom and support of the wider family unit.
