I've practiced for over 25 years in Richmond and the Northern Neck, working with adults and teens (12+). I help clients with grief, anxiety, stress, depression, difficult life changes, parenting, relationships, aging, and work/life balance.

My passion is helping individuals facing challenges with past and current issues. By finding what motivates them and focusing on their strengths, we work together to help build the skills to move ahead. I use a cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused approach and always ensure that my clients can be themselves in a judgment-free environment. I work with adults experiencing challenges with managing their anger, family problems, depression, grief, anxiety, difficulties with college, gaming and gambling addictions. I work with children and adolescents who need help with various behaviors.

I consider it a privilege and am passionate about helping others uncover their own hope, receive healing, and grow to their full potential. I enjoy working alongside individuals, couples, and families collaboratively to help them reach their goals. I believe the foundation of effective counseling is taking in the uniqueness of each individual or family and building a strong therapeutic environment where it is a safe place to be authentic and honest about struggles. I've worked with individuals and families of all ages going through personal and relational conflict.

Joshua Kee is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than 12 years of clinical mental health experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced various symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger management, parent/child difficulty, mood disorders, stress management, ADHD, impulse control issues, and family and relationship issues, among others. Joshua is highly skilled in building rapport and trust with his clients in order to create an effective therapeutic alliance. He received his Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2014.

I am a License Professional Counselor located in Virginia. I am trained and experienced in conducting individual, couples and family therapy. I have worked in professional settings in the US, and internationally for many years. My clinical orientation is strongly person-centered, with a bent toward existentialism. In the therapeutic setting, I believe that we all journey together, learning and experiencing collectively what happens in the moment. I have strong skills empowering clients confronting life transitions, relationship issues and mood irregularities. I am intimately cognizant of challenges faced by LGBTQ+ persons.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families who are looking for help around challenges with ADHD, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, and those that are twice exceptional. I view my role as helping individuals discover their capabilities and strengths to overcome life challenges. Many times, this means helping them identify new coping strategies, ways to communicate with others, and an overall healthier way of living.

Dr. Bohannon is a Licensed Professional counselor with a heart to see individuals, couples, and families completely restored. Dr. Donald Bohannon strives to bring an effective blend of experience, expertise, clarity, concern and action to the counseling process in order to maximize outcomes and provide genuine healing and wholeness to individuals, marriages and families. Dr. Bohannon is experienced in counseling children, adolescents, and adults. Emphasis include mood disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, conduct disorder, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and trauma.

As a couples and family therapist, I believe the one distinguishing factor is "attachment". Attachment is the ability to connect with others. Depending on our ability (or inability) to attach interpersonally, determines the overall satisfaction we experience within our intimate relationships. Also, having been a victim of racism, I opened this practice as a place that people of color can heal from the impact of both blatant and systemic oppression.

The pressures of work and family life, stress and anxiety, broken and strained relationships often cloud our perspective. We get lost in unmet expectations and disappointments. We can lose sight of where we are in our story and what influence we have over what else is to be written. What if you had the ability to write your story? How would you pen your future? What would you want to change about the here and now? The right therapist can often walk with you for a brief chapter, listen intently, help more fully discern your story, develop a plan, and perhaps gain back control.

No matter who you are, life is hard. The difficulties of day-to-day life often put us in a bind: On one hand, the stressors are too big and too painful to ignore. And yet, while we may wish for and even utilize the support of those around us, for a whole host of reasons, we often resort to going it alone. In these moments, therapy can be a promising new option: a confidential relationship rooted in honesty, understanding, and compassion. It is my belief that such a relationship can provide a fresh start: a new orientation towards our problems and a new way of experiencing the world we live in.

William Cook is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia who has been practicing since 2017. William provides a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings as they find new insight, meaning, and ways to cope with whatever struggles they wish to work on in counseling. For the past 20 years, I have enjoyed working with adults and adolescents in the Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg communities. I am an EMDR therapist, specializing in treatment of trauma and PTSD but I also provide treatment of many common concerns including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, relationship difficulties, and general life-stress. I see my role as a guide to help identify realistic, effective, and lasting skills to start the process of change, as well as identifying personal or interpersonal barriers that are getting in the way.
