I love working with individuals and families and have been for 8 years in the New River Valley in a wide variety of roles. My approach is tailored for each client, situation and goal to find what works best for each unique individual. I use an eclectic approach and embrace a person-centered philosophy to best meet my client's needs and take joy in helping others explore and achieve personal goals to live a healthier and happier life.

Joshua Kee is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than 12 years of clinical mental health experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced various symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger management, parent/child difficulty, mood disorders, stress management, ADHD, impulse control issues, and family and relationship issues, among others. Joshua is highly skilled in building rapport and trust with his clients in order to create an effective therapeutic alliance. He received his Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2014.

Nytasia Dockery, Supervisee in Social Work (SISW), is a mental health professional with over 3 years of professional experience helping clients of all ages to overcome concerns or conditions related to couples issues, family matters, anxiety, depression, academic issues, career transitions, and much more.

Have you ever thought – what distinguishes healthy relationships that are able to thrive from unhealthy ones that tend to be full of stress? Is it self-will? Determination? As a couples and family therapist, I believe the one distinguishing factor is "attachment". Attachment is the ability to connect with others. Depending on our ability (or inability) to attach interpersonally, determines the overall satisfaction we experience within our intimate relationships. Also, having been a victim of racism, I opened this practice as a place that people of color can heal from the impact of both blatant and systemic oppression.

It is my passion and life work to help people achieve their goals and dreams. Sometimes life gets in the way of this and it is easy to get off track. I believe that the right counselor can make a difference in the life of anyone struggling mentally and emotionally.

I work with a broad clientele including children ages 10+, adults, families, and couples. Anxiety disorders are a strong interest of mine. I like to collaboratively identify multiple interventions with clients who have goals related to diminishing and managing anxious symptoms. Building a trusting relationship is also important. Ideally, clients will recognize that they have a strong ally in me. I appreciate working with clients interested in learning more about their diagnosis and related symptoms, exploring how they influence them personally and inter-personally, and generally educating themselves about their mental health.

Emotional distress often surfaces in many different life situations including grief, loss of a job, infidelity, relationship issues, parenting concerns, constant worry, anxiety and depression and is often triggered by everyday life situations. I empathize with your need to get past your distressing thoughts and memories, and I will diligently and caringly work side-by- side with you to feel calm and safe again.

You work so hard to do what’s right. Always trying to live up to expectations from society, your family, and yourself for what a man is supposed to be. But no matter how tirelessly you toil or how much energy you expend, it never seems to make any difference. You’re still stuck in the same place – unfulfilled, disconnected, and increasingly frustrated at your inability to fix anything. It feels like you’re slowly being crushed under the weight of your responsibilities to everyone. You want so badly to break free of this terrible cycle, but that seems impossible. You need help, but you’re unsure where to turn. It feels hopeless.

Hannah Pinkston is a Resident Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia with years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked with individuals, groups, couples, and families at various life stages and from diverse backgrounds that are seeking sustainable empowerment through habit development, increased self-awareness, and enhanced life perspectives. Hannah’s comprehensive, person-centered approach to therapy, prioritizes the overall well-being of the client and maintains alignment with their personal goals.

Mary Struzinsky is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Trauma Specialist (CTS) with over 30 years of experience working in counseling settings such as private practice, serving as a counselor and administrator for agencies providing foster care and adoption, youth residential, and outpatient mental health services for adults and families. In Mary's free time, she spends time with her family including her husband, three kids, four cats, and a new puppy. Mary completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Syracuse University.

I have enjoyed providing support in mental health for over 20 years now. We all face moments of distress and experience unplanned circumstances in our lives that we simply are not prepared for. It can be difficult to navigate our way through all of the thoughts that may come up or the different levels of pain we tend to experience. I know that reaching out for help can be challenging. We all have our own healing journeys and I am grateful to be able to help individuals with discovering their own path to healing, growth and change.

Pamela Pierce is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in treating anxiety, depression, anger, and behavioral issues in youth and adults. She has 9 years of experience working with at-risk adolescents and adults with severe mental illness in a behavioral health setting. Pamela has worked with individuals and couples in a private practice setting for 2 years. She has a passion for collaboratively assisting individuals working through their anxiety, depression, and anger. It is Pamela's experience that behavioral issues tend to stem from an underlying issue.

I have spent 10 years working with clients who struggle with mental health and/or addiction. Client "specialties" are as follows (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma, substance use, parenting/attachment, ineffective communication, career counseling and relationship or family systems issues.

My passion for counseling and working closely with people and their stories has always been a part of what drives me. I am particularly passionate about working closely with those who experience trauma of any kind as well as the affects that come along with it such as anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship issues etc. I specialize in working with women, in particular, to help them see that no matter where their story has led them to until now, that their story matters regardless and healing can be found in each chapter.

Tara Lineberry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia and has over 15 years of experience assisting children, adolescents, adults, and couples with mental health, relationship, and trauma concerns. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Development/Human Services from Virginia Tech and received her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Tara has experience conducting therapeutic sessions in both the inpatient psychiatric and outpatient mental health settings.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a diverse background in mental health; working with issues including anxiety, depression, attachment injuries, domestic violence, parenting concerns, communication, boundaries, emotional regulation, Adverse Childhood Experiences/family of origin, grief/loss, chronic illness, etc. I prefer to use a holistic model, taking into account biopsychosocial factors in a person's life, rather than treating symptoms alone. When we work towards harmony among all systems in the body and with the rest of the world, we can find deeper, sustainable healing.
