I have 20+ years of experience working in psychiatric hospitals, medical facilities, community health centers, pediatric clinics, schools, and residential treatment centers. I offered many years to working with children, adolescents, parents, and families through child protective services, rape crisis centers, shelters, neighborhood centers, and adoption centers. I am experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders including PTSD, Depression, Trauma, Anxiety, & Psychosis including the management of other symptoms that stem from family/ relationship conflict, social difficulties, poor school performance, and violence/ abuse.

Dr. David Pulley "Dr. Dave" earned his bachelor's in psychology from Howard University in DC and obtained both his Master's and Doctorate from Chestnut Hill College in PA. His Doctorate degree is in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy and a specialization in the subject of Soul Mates. As a result, he is known as an expert on soul mates and a pioneer of some of the clinically based models and theories on the subject. Dr. Pulley has created a team of clinical consultants (Tender Loving Care Clinical Consultations) who provide psychologically based consultative support for their client base.

I strive to create a comfortable and inviting environment so I can hear one's life story, goals, heartaches and tough life decisions. I have a deep understanding and love for all things LOVE. Love within a family system, love within a marriage, and love within one's self. Unfortunately love isn't always enough. I enjoy working with adolescents, college students, adults, couples/marriage counseling, parenting and family therapy. My interests include adolescents, marital and relationship problems, communication skills, anxiety and depressive disorders, life transitions, coping skills, emotional disturbance, peer relationships, self-harming, self-esteem building, and family conflicts.

Therapy is a powerful way of changing unhelpful patterns in our life and engaging in the process can help ease the dilemma of feeling stuck. In my work with clients I practice from a humanistic approach to understanding the person seeking treatment. My aim is to create connection through understanding and safety within the parameters of a secure therapeutic relationship to help stabilize crisis and facilitate emotional growth. I work with teens and adults, at different stages of development to help gain skills and insight into how internal conflicts may be playing out in life and relationships.

I believe in empowering people to process loss, reach goals, develop self-esteem, and improve functioning in a supportive, safe environment.I have gained experience working in both an in-patient and an out-patient psychiatric hospital setting, the Children's Protective Services system, group private practice, and a prison.

I offer individual, couples, and family therapy formats for adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, or attachment trauma. **I am also trained in DBT and Self Compassion and offer 1:1 work.** Struggles we face in life can negatively influence our understanding of ourselves, others, and the world around us in ways that keep us stuck, afraid, and unhealthy. Processing these difficult experiences can allow us to break free from this influence and show up in the world in ways that align with our inherent goodness, enabling feelings of success and happiness. Loss, failure, and separation are major root causes of many forms of suffering in life. But they are not always evident, we may be too young when live through them, or we may not feel their impact until long after an event. Sometimes they even travel through generations. As a psychotherapist, I have spent over 25 years helping people who suffered from a variety of emotional and relational problems created by one or a combination of these issues, ranging from basic unhappiness to unhealthy relationships, workplace conflicts, divorce and separations, parents struggling with their children, migration and forced separation, even trauma.
