I have been a high school teacher and coach for the last 7 years and worked in community mental health for 2 years. And have been running my own private practice for the last 2 years. I work best with individuals that are young adults or adults that struggling with where they are in life. I provide a comfortable, safe, non-judgmental environment where we learn together to understand the context of your struggles and establish an appropriate therapy for your needs and wants.

A graduate cum laude with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, I have experience working 7 years working in psychiatric hospitals and three years in outpatient treatment. This has given me excellent experience in working with people of all ages, backgrounds, severity of issues, and problems. I use a collaborative multimodal process and am specialized in working with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, and trauma. Emotions are a natural part of life, but sometimes we struggle feeling stuck with painful emotions causing life and our circumstances to feel unmanageable. My ultimate goal is to treat and heal the underlying root causes, thus providing an opportunity to break free from the chains of the harmful or negative past behaviors and thought processes.

Trying to understand the “standard rules” of behavior was always confusing and overwhelming. When they said, “Don’t cry. Stop acting out. Sit still. Stop being so difficult. You’re too sensitive.”, you heard, “What’s wrong with you?”. You’ve been trying your hardest to figure that answer out ever since. Your focus and attention are precious, so hyper-focusing on something fun and exciting, i.e., TV, Video games, Sports, just made you feel better. It certainly helped tune everything labeled “wrong” or “bad” out, even if it was just for a little while.

I strive to create an environment that is warm and welcoming. It is not unusual to feel apprehensive about starting therapy, these fears can usually be alleviated within the first session or two.

Topical issues may include low self-esteem , ADHD, transitioning from athletic identity, peer relationships, anger management, self-mutilation, eating disorders, and self-empowerment.
