Sex addiction is not about sex. Sex addiction is about deep wounding. It is a disorder that involves trauma, abuse (sexual, physical, and emotional), abandonment, neglect, failure to bond, dysfunctional families, a disorder of the brain, courtship distortion, stress, genetics, an intimacy disorder, and many other deep issues. Treatment requires extensive knowledge and skill.
My theological training (M.Div. '95), my completion of an intensive one-year chaplain residency (CPE '97), my 15 years of experience in the addiction field, my completion of my CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist '11) training, and my own personal recovery from sexual addiction gives me a unique perspective for my clients.

Pathway to Freedom is an 8 week intensive outpatient program( 9 hrs. a week of group therapy)for men. This program is a cognitive-behavioral task centered approach to treating sex addiction developed by Dr. Patrick J.Carnes, the author of "Out of the Shadows" (the ground breaking research on sexual addiction) and the leading authority in the world on Sex Addiction. I am a Christian professional counselor and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist(CSAT). The CSAT designation is the leading training and certification process in the world today for the sex addiction professional ( International Institute of Addiction Trauma Professionals).
