I have a passion for working with others to improve their quality of life. I have spent over twenty years working with children of all ages, adolescents and adults, whom have had emotional, behavioral, medical and learning challenges. I have experience providing family and marital counseling. My experience also includes working with individuals whom have dual diagnosis using different forms of psychotherapy. Throughout my extensive 25-year career in behavioral health, substance abuse, case management, and medical social work, I have acquired invaluable experience.

I provide counseling for neurodivergent and atypical adolescents and adults. I am a certified ADHD provider. I don’t believe in one size fits all. I’m an open-minded and compassionate therapist ready to start where you are. As an ally, I am there to support the client so that they can learn strong coping skills. My work is trauma-informed. Anything from anxiety, depression, trauma or discomfort due to life transitions and difficult relationships will be a focus, and we can uncover what needs to be addressed with greater understanding so that we can face things head on with the tools you will learn.

We have a few therapists to choose from. Michelle Blank is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Anxiety, Substance-Abuse, and Trauma. She works with adult individuals that are 18+. She has night and weekend hours available. Eric Rothe specializes in substance abuse and trauma. He works with 18+ individuals. Pat Keaton is bi-lingual in Spanish and English and works with individuals 18+ and couples. Pat specializes in trauma, substance abuse, and life transitions.

I specialize in the treatment of Complex Psychological Trauma including relational trauma from abusive relationships, PTSD, and all forms of addiction including sex and other process addictions (such as pornography, gambling, and food). I have a great deal of experience working with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Depression, and Bipolar Disorder. I assist individuals in establishing skills to set and maintain appropriate boundaries, identify codependency, address denial, and improve conflict management tools.

These challenges and adversities are essential to the human experience, as is the need for support, resources, and resilience. A graduate cum laude with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, I have experience working 7 years working in psychiatric hospitals and three years in outpatient treatment. This has given me excellent experience in working with people of all ages, backgrounds, severity of issues, and problems. I use a collaborative multimodal process and am specialized in working with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, and trauma. My CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) skills have been certified by the Beck Institute.

Geeks, by traditional definition, are passionate about anthologies and characters from a variety of fictional, fantasy, and virtual formats that are sometimes niche or unpopular, creating feelings of relatedness towards avatar experiences in an often lonely life. . However, with the rise of popular media over the past several years, (e.g. Big Bang Theory, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Marvel’s Avengers, Anime, etc.) self-identification as a “geek” or “nerd” has become more mainstream. We practice this type of therapy and welcome you to come and grow through the practice of Geek Therapy
