Danielle "Dani" Ellis is a counselor, coach, and psychotherapist who helps people having difficulty coping with emotional or behavioral problems that are affecting their happiness and peace of mind. She assists her clients by focusing on resilience, empowerment, assertiveness, and positive actionable change. Treatment is based on a wellness perspective where clients are understood, accepted, and encouraged to focus on their individual uniqueness and strengths rather than identifying with an illness or diagnosis. The typical Bro I work with the best is the guy who never became comfortable experiencing or expressing his emotions and developed several unhealthy short-term remedies to deal with them which worked fine until they no longer worked, usually in the form of their relationship with their significant other and/or children. I understand that life brings unexpected transitions. During these transitions people sometimes need someone to help facilitate change, someone to listen without judgment, or voice their thoughts in order to gain a fresh perspective. The goal in counseling is to help those in crisis, navigate through grief, anger, confusion, and those who feel out of control gain control. I have worked in several inpatient hospitals and private practice for six years and that has allowed me to counsel military families, clients with suicidal thoughts or attempts, addicts, and those who struggle with psychosis.

My strongest belief as a therapist is that there must be a connection between therapist and client, one of trust and respect. Not all therapists are a right fit for you, you have to find the therapist you connect with. I have worked with individuals and their families to gain skills for coping with and managing issues surrounding depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and behavioral struggles along with relational and personal issues. I have worked with adolescents in hospital outpatient settings as well as private practice. I have experience working with children, adult individuals, couples, and families.

I have 20+ years of experience as a licensed clinician. During that time, I have taken many roles within the helping professions - first responder, therapist, supervisor, university professor and clinical director, to name a few. I work with many situations and would like to see if I can assist you. I work with ages 15 and up and see clients in many modalities, including individual, couple, family and group therapy sessions. I have significant experience with crisis management & intervention, assessment & diagnosis, clients who are prescribed psychotropic medications and professionals in high-stress careers (Health, LEOs, Law, Ed.).

As past Chief of Allied Staff of a inpatient psychiatric hospital plus 20+ years of private practice, I provide a strong base of clinical skill and experience for all my clients. Through building improved perception, insight,and judgment supported by the accepting psychotherapeutic relationship, my goal is to enable clients to effect positive change in their lives through awareness and resolution of issues.
