Hello, my name is Jonathan and I thank you for visiting my page. Joining counseling tends to be a little bit scary and anxious-provoking. In addition, your friends or family members might think that you are wasting your time and money. So, I can understand how cultural and even your mind will try to convince you that you don't need counseling. So, when is necessary to participate in counseling? I would say whenever you want to get to know more about yourself, when you are noticing doubts, sadness, anxiety, anger, loneliness, and other factors interfering with your sleep, mood, relationships, and daily performance.

What a relief it would be if others could see you like you see yourself. Some days the stress just feels like too much. Welcome to my practice! For over ten years I have worked as a licensed counselor, with experience in addictions, family violence, at-risk adolescents, and working with the HIV/AIDS population. I have specific training in Cognitive-Behavioral, Rational Emotive Behavioral, and Solution-Focused Brief therapies. These therapies have been shown through research to be effective in treating depression, anxiety, addictions, and other mental health diagnoses. I also like to incorporate relaxation, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques, and art therapy techniques in my work with clients.

Kiddos, teens, and young adults are my jam. I understand family conflict, struggles with social interactions, anxiety, depression, and all the things that these age groups have to face, especially in a world that doesn't seem to be kind and understanding of their obstacles and needs, almost dismissing their experiences as undeserving of being taken seriously. These youth are seeking to find their place in the world and feel confident and worthy of moving through life with the love and respect they deserve. They're eager to learn more about themselves and make sense of the world around them and becoming self empowered in the process.
